Battery draining much faster on 4G than on Wi-Fi.

I've noticed that my G7's battery goes down 1% every 8-9 mins on Wi-Fi when browsing the Internet.

However, when on 4G and 4G+, it dries 1% every 3-4 mins (when browsing the same webpages as on Wi-Fi).

Is this normal? Phone is 2 weeks old, every app is updated. Sync and Location is switched off. Brightness is set at 30%. Battery saver is switched off.

Thank you and appreciated.

4g is a notorious battery hog. Always been that way. It gets far worse if the phone is struggling to maintain a 4 signal.

Maybe it's utilizing the new superfast LTE.. you can always change the speed to 4G or 3G on the mobile settings. Ask your carrier to do a signal reset, sometimes that works.

Thanks.

It's already on the 4G setting - the highest that says 2G/3G/4G Auto. The lesser below it is 2G/3G Auto.
