Battery drops from 100% within minutes

I just got the update last night so dis that. Cleared the cache as you said and fully charged. Let's see if its improved today.

I decided to give Samsung phone another try. Got the S21 Ultra and I have noticed that on this phone, like all my previous Samsung phones, whenever the battery is at 100%, it drops within just 2-3 minutes of normal use. Not that it is a problem, but other Android phones that I have used in the past, Huawei, pixel, oneplus, at least stay on 100% for at least over 15 minutes of use.

Is this just the way Samsung handles its battery? Do other users notice this as well?
It's the same for me.
My former Mate 20X was on 100% for a long time in the beginning of a day, I always spend minimum 1 hour in the morning drinking coffee and checking my mail etc on my phone and still my Mate was on 100% after, but not with my S21u...

I did the update and cleared the cache. Does seem better. Didn't need to charge it last night and probably won't need to for another 2 or three hours
So I think it's better.

From reading this thread, I'm getting the impression that people would rather a battery indicator reassuringly lie to them than try to be accurate... Odd.

All I know is if my battery drops below 25% charge my Allstate Drivewise app stops recording trips toward a 15% discount off my auto policy. A full charge on my S21 Ultra usually lasts at least 2.5 days before it drops to that level.

Yep and if you go watch battery tests you'll see why Apple reports battery percentage the way it does.
It will stay at 100% for hours to make users "feel" better, but once it starts falling the percentage falls much faster than other phones.

Standard Samsung stuff.

Had opposite on my Oppo Find X3 Pro. 39 minutes to drop 100 to 99....

I have noticed this with Samsung phones as well having come from iPhones that stay at 100% well past any realistic expectation :)

It seems to me that since the battery % doesn't show decimals, that Samsung considers anything less than 100% but greater than 99% to be a whole value of 99%, when in fact it is probably 99.9% or 99.8% in that minute to two when it drops.

It doesn't appear to be anything to be alarmed about, in that it doesn't seem to negatively impact battery life throughout the day.
