Batteries always come charged but it is best to charge it before you plan on using it for a whole day! Mine always seem to have better life after a few charges. I put mine on charge when I go to bed and grab it in the morning. Not possible to overcharge! When you first get a phone it seems like the battery doesn't last long because you are playing with it so much!

Lithium batteries do not need priming nor do they have a memory so charge up to but not much beyond 100%. Always charge with the device powered off and if you do charge to 100% wait a while before powering on so the current level drops.
