Maybe this is old news but I believe from my little testing today that it is true.

Looks like if you have a 4G toggle switch your phone will continuously scan for 4g even if it shows it off.

I found this tid bit of info in the Myn's Rom thread over at xda.

Sorry if this is old news. But maybe you geniuses over here in the ROMS/Hacks side can do some more investigating.

This is in fact *old news*. lol, sorry to say. It is in fact a battery killer if 4G is continuously scanning. It especially will kill your battery if you're not in a 4G area.

one thing you need to ensure... if you have multiple widget/switch apps, like switch pro, and the stock htc sense 4g toggle, or any other 4g toggle, you need to make sure that ALL of them are set to off, even if they're not active on the screen...

If you have different launchers, for example the stock HTC Sense, and you also have Launcher Pro, if the 4G toggle is on in your HTC Sense but you're using launcher pro and switch pro to toggle 4g, you need to make sure they're all off. when you use launcher pro, it just takes the place of Sense, but everything in the Sense launcher stays stored... so when you switch back, it's exactly like you left it, so you either remove all shortcuts, widgets, etc from the Sense setup, then use launcher pro, or ensure toggles are off.
