battery life 24+ hours?

I think the poeple who get 40+ hours or even 24+ hours must never get notifications or just keep their watch muted the whole time. Can you anyone who does get more than 24+ confirm this?

My watch is never muted. I get all of my work and personal email notifications on it. I use it to control music playback sometimes when I get home. I actually use the timer function a lot, too.

24+ is doable for me, but 40+ is not likely with my usage.

I wish mine was lasting as long as your guys are. Do any of you use Facer? maybe thats my 3rd party app thats draining it.

Facer is definitely draining the battery. Once Google releases the watch face api different faces will not drain the battery. Facer has to work differently than a watch face. It is just an app that runs above the watch face.

I cannot get more than 8 hours and that is with ambient light off.

You either have defective hardware or something running on your watch is draining your battery. I'm currently at a little over 8 hours off the charger with 63% battery left. This is with Ambient mode off.

Now that the new is wearing off a bit and I'm not constantly fiddling with it I'm getting 12-15 hrs with some juice to spare. Facer seemed to be zapping a lot of life out of it so I went back to the stock watch face.

It keeps pace with the battery in my 1st gen Moto-X so I'm pretty happy with battery life.

Currently I have no 3rd party watch faces installed on my device. I enjoyed customizing the look of the watch, but the "Minimal" face that came with the watch is still my favorite. So until the official API is finalized, I'll refrain from using 3rd party watch faces.

Yesterday i got 18 hours of battery and put it on the charger with 25% left. I figured if i continue i would be past 24 hours. But today i noticed an update for Android wear and Wear mini launcher. So i updated those and i was down to 52% after 5.5 hours. Im wondering if the update on the phone pushed something to the watch draining the battery. Hopefully my good day wasnt a hiccup...

After reading the comments I removed all the third party programs except for the wear mini launcher and have had a huge jump in battery life. Facer and one called Clocki. Nine hours so far today and I am at 72% with moderate use. Yesterday I went 15 hours with 45% percent left before putting in the cradle.
Why would the face apps cause such a drain?

Why would the face apps cause such a drain?

I think because Google still hasn't provided the clock API to developers. So apps like Facer are not optimized for devices. I have no idea why Google hasn't released this after all this time.

I took my phone off the charger at around 11:40AM. Its currently 12:43AM (after midnight) and I am on 59%. I have noticed a greatly improved battery life. Like others have said, I noticed my battery drains faster with more "advanced" watch faces. I feel like it drains faster if you have a watch face with the second hand moving, but thats just me, I may be wrong

Today im not even at 12 hours and im only at 23% left!!! I used my watch to respond to 2 text messages, and then swiped away maybe 15 emails. Other than that i had about 10 reminders and checked the time just a handful of times. I have Mini Launcher and a calculator installed... i feel like thats horrible battery life. Ive also noticed my screen turning on randomly without movement or notifications... thinking about returning for a new one.

What kind of Watchface do u have? That could have an impact, also what is ur brightness on?

Try Resetting the phone (not restarting, resetting)

I think pairing takes a lot out of the moto 360. On Sunday I wore the watch all day (9am to 9pm or so) with decent use due to football notifications and I still had ~30% when I took it off. Yesterday I wore the watch to work for the first time. Starting at 5:30 with light use it died around 4:30pm, I work a 10 hour day. I think what killed it was I leave my phone on my desk and walk around a lot so it was re-pairing a lot. I'm testing this theory today by keeping my phone in my pocket.

Update: It's 4:30 now and I'm at 58% battery life. Roughly same use as yesterday I just kept my phone in my pocket and it didn't have to re-pair with my phone much (a few times). I'll try it again tomorrow with leaving it at my desk just to see but it looks like re-pairing takes decent battery.

I went from 6AM - 1000PM and it's 52%. Incredible considering what we all started with at launch. I'm loving it more and more as I don't have to worry about my battery all day. Before, I'd get notifications and I'd wonder if the battery was draining at a high rate. It wasn't a big deal, but not worrying about it makes it all the more enjoyable of a gadget.

Completely by accident im testing 2 days with my battery. I forgot to charge last night and it's 330pm right now and im at 29%. That's 32+ hours off charger. Not bad! Not a heavy user but I have a lot of work and personal emails come through and countess texts.
