battery life after lollipop

I don't yet :( this is my 4th post alone. I would I could even post a link. Im on the phone with motorola now possibly getting a replacement

I contacted motorola and they are sending me a replacement. Battery has improved slightly to almost 2 hours on screen time, but that's still pretty low. Hopefully this new one will be better. Any suggestions on doing set up correctly? I plan on updating the new phone to Lollipop immediately upon receiving and will use the new transfer feature in 5.0 (NFC), along with Migrate possibly. Hope that's a good idea.

Facebook doesn't really take up much of the battery, to be honest. Usually under 10% (at 6 right now).

Yea, today I'm at 28% battery with 59 min on screen time

There is something wrong. I am on lollipop and I consistently get 4+ hours of screen on time. The battery stats should be showing the screen as using the most battery. Also, check to see if the phone is showing as awake while the screen is off. This is called a Wakelock. It is usually caused by poorly coded apps using way too many background recourses.

Do a factory reset immediately after updating to 5.0. This should eliminate 90% of any issues before you run into them.

In my experience with 5.0 so far, with moderate use (a little FB, a little e-mail, a little WWF, a little Trivia Crack throughout the morning and early afternoon), taking it off the charger at 6am, and by 3pm I'm down to just 40% left.

This is with bluetooth on (which I've heard has negligible effect unless you actually have a device paired to your phone), and high accuracy GPS enabled (again negligible unless you have an app that's using it). Other than that the only battery draining app I can think I have running is EZ Weather widget, which only updates every 2 hours.

I came from the droid Turbo. I consistently got 49 hours with that phone. I get about 24-29 hours with this Moto X 2014 running Lollipop. I read that there are bugs in 5.0 related to memory leak and background processes, which are draining the battery uneccesarily. In my case, I typically swipe apps closed when I am finished with them. 5.0 requires regular reboots. Also, I switched to smart launcher 2, instead of Nova, GNL, and other options. I find the battery life is very good. I suspect the 5.0x updates will solve some of these issues. But, the device has a modest battery to start with, and many "always-on" features.

My battery life has taken a complete nosedive in recent days on my Moto X with Lollipop. Not sure what it is. I had less than an hour of screen on time and it was dead in 8 hours. I installed GSam Battery but honestly I dont think that's giving me much insight. App Usage is usually very high so maybe I've got a rogue app installed.

I may just completely wipe the phone and start from scratch.

Here's my battery stats. Any ideas?

I did a full wipe about ten days ago and my battery life is noticeably improved. I was having very high app usage after the update, particularly from the Android system and kernel. I'm glad it got better because I was having to charge at least once and sometimes twice a day to make it through the day after the lollipop update. It was a pain doing the reset but well worth it.

To be honest, 21 hours on battery doesn't seem terrible with the usage you show. What were you getting before 5.0?

The problem is, I was at work for most of that time which means my screen is off for nearly 8 hours straight. I usually never go above an hour screen on time during the day and the phone still struggles.

So I got my replacement phone over a week ago and the battery has been pretty inconsistent. Basically like it was previously - if not worse. Today, for instance, took off charger at 9am. Very light use throughout day. Its 10:40pm and I'm at 15% with 49min on screen time.

Im at a loss what to do here. This is terrible

I got my baby 2 days ago (bamboo white). Got lollipop out of the box.
What does this mobile radio active mean...

My gsam app shows different SOT than lollipop battery monitor... how??

I am actually looking into purchasing one. Im switching from a iPhone 5s, before I had the Lg G2 which wasnt that bad on battery. One of my main concerns is battery life. Ive heard good things about the phone otherwise, but with the comparison in battery size from the 2013 to this more recent phone, I could only imagine how good or bad it could be. Of course it all depends on the user experience, so getting a average usage time should be quite hard to ascertain.

Stand by time has been a little worse, but my SOT seems to be better.

I am having 4h of SOT and I think it is not really bad but Stand by time is awful!

Any tips to increase battery life while in stand by mode? I tried Greenify hibernate but my Moto drains like 10% battery in 8h sleep time.

I'm use both an iPhone 6 and Moto X 2014 and the battery is comparable. I get about 3 hours SoT every day out of either device and still have 30% or so at 10:00 PM after unplugging at 7:00 AM.

I'd assume the Moto X's battery life is a little better than the iPhone 5s's.
