battery life and charging

How come it takes longer to charge the 10 than you get hours use out of it? It takes flipping hours and hours to charge, half a day almost and you only get maybe 4 hours use out of it?

Are you using the charger that came with it?? If not, that's your problem.
(Also, are you charging through USB or directly into outlet?)

Ahh, now you might be onto something. I am actually using my nexus 4 charger. I am in the UK and the 10 I bought is U.S stock and came with a U.S plug but supplied with a UK plug as an extra. I just assumed it would be ok to use the nexus 4 charger direct into mains?

That's your problem. You need a high output charger that has at least 2 amp output.

Thankyou, I shall try it. So is that's what's making it take so long to charge? Or will it make the battery not last so long as well??

It won't hurt your battery, but that is why it is taking so long to charge.
It still takes a long time to charge up this "beast", but it will go faster if you have the right charger.

FYI, there is also a pogo charger available that charges about 20% faster (with the proper plug):

Thankyou, really appreciate the help.
So why do they run down so quick? I don't want to compare it to my iPad but that does seem to last at least twice as long. Any reason for that? Is it maybe because the screen saps it?
