So I am ready to give a keyboard-less phone another shot. I am tired of my locked bootloader so I want so sell my D4 and buy a used gnex to hold me over till the next nexus comes out. The one thing I want to know is if battery life is different. My D4 struggle to last through a day of heavy use. I do leave LTE on all the time which I know could help to turn it off but I would like an apples to apples comparison. How does the Gnex compare? Removable battery is definitely a plus but how does single battery life compare with the D4? Thanks for any help.

P.S. anyone care to trade? :)

D4 is going to have better battery just based off of the screen size. But that should not stop you from getting. A gnex an extend battery will let you make it through a day. As with the trade question I'm not thinking your going to find anyone willing to part with there gnex where all pretty much in love with are phones. :)

I'm not so sure that this holds true. Now it is hard to compare apples to jelly beans, however, I have the GNex and my wife has the D4. All I know for sure is that she spends a helluva a lot more time with hers plugged in than I do. I use my phone A LOT more than she does too. I don't know for sure what all that means, other than the observation of her charging hers way more often than I do, she has even commented that she wants VZW to replace it because the battery is so bad. BTW, I am rooted/ROMed and she is not.

Interesting your assessment is more accurate then mine as I have never owned a droid 4. Maybe all the bloat and moto skin kills the battery?

Thanks for your inputs. I just got a new refurbed D4 to fix an issue my first had so if I am gonna sell now is the time. If the right deal comes along for a nexus i might snatch it.
