Battery Life discussion thread.

Disabled 5G and my phone battery is noticeably better. Its getting close to where my Note 10+ was at! I recommend disabling it for now!

Gosh, I'm disappointed now because I am likely switching plans but doing so puts us in a 5G plan (with some service in our area). It saves us a decent chunk of $ though. No way to toggle it off like some in the phone's network settings because AT&T likes to be all controlling. :p

This is why I got the unlocked version. Carriers will disable so many things and add their own things its annoying!

I always had the auto switch between 2/3/4/5 activated on my Note 10 plus 5G and I was around the 10 hour SoT
I would imagine that they only improved it since.

I learn slowly apparently, lol. I debated but didn't see a reason to go unlocked with how much better AT&T is for coverage where we need it here (we have few options, I am saying I knew we weren't changing carriers anytime soon). I am leaning heavily to going unlocked next year regardless!

The Note 10+ handled battery overall better than the Note 20U. My Note10+ had amazing and better battery exact same settings as my Note 20U. I think all the extra features and stuff could be a culprit for the Note 20U but who knows. I hope they release a software update to address this issue

That article explains a lot. If I knew this was how 5G was being implemented i wouldn't have been so gung ho about it. So now in my mind 5G is still in its experimental phase so its not a necessity to have at the moment. I turned off 5g and my battery is noticeably improved. Plus I've just realized that LTE is so much faster on my Note 20 U compared to my iPhone 11Pro max.

Good to know. I live in an area with zero service so I setup Bixby Routines to turn off mobile data all together while at home and turn back on when I leave.

I got to get into this Bixby routines thing, I keep meaning to look at it but never got around to it, sounds pretty handy.

I think a lot of people blow it off because it starts with Bixby, but I love the routines feature and you can use it even if you don't use Bixby any other way.

N20U snap dragon

Not bad 120 Hz active.

Seems my usage is 5 hours screen on time on decent use and 6 hours on heavy usage so far and now it lasts me all day until I put it on charge when i to bed...

Definitely Looking good. With 120hz

So from 8hrs and half to 9hrs and half I've been getting for the past week with 120hz is definitely outstanding, I'm good with that.

Yep, I see this ending up close enough to the Note 10 plus 5G so I'm happy as well.

Those getting good battery life I'm curious at what setting do you keep your brightness? Auto or manual? Jacked up all the way? Halfway? I personally love it as bright as it can get. Probably not necessary, but love to see the screen in all its glory. Not getting great battery life though. I'm averaging 4.5 hours of SOT. I'm sure if I dialed it down it would be a lot better since the screen is the biggest killer of battery life.

I only have brightness set at 45-50% as I'm not living in a sunny place, any higher would be uncomfortable for the eyes.
It's on Auto as well.
Location and NFC I keep off unless I need it.
Data/5G/Wifi/Wifi Calling/BT/and all the Sync. Is always on

I use auto but I have slightly dropped it down. I don't need to be blinded. I also can't turn off 5G. I'm on Verizon. I had a assumption about this but now I can really confirm... iPhone pro max has much less battery drop in low signal areas. That may be due to the Intel modem. But that don't bother me much.

I haven't changed nothing.
Not gonna change nothing.
Battery seems to be doing find on the wife's phone and mine.
It not, I will charge it.
