Battery Life Getting Worse

The fact that the Time without a signal seemed fixed at 50% made me think that it is a bug in the software. I did some looking online and found that this is a known bug with some other LG phones. I did a fix that was on one of the forum postings.

Turn airplane mode on and then turn it off. After doing this and charging the phone, my time without signal is at 0%. I am not sure if this is a permanent fix but it is working for now.

i think thats actually a froyo issue and not just an LG issue.

Did a battery test today (well, still doing it). At six and a half hours now and battery is at 7%. This includes a lot of heavy usage that'd tax the CPU, and everything being turned on (Wifi, GPS, etc, and running the Wardrive app as well while the phone was idle). I've had the phone for a week now, so it seems like the battery life is good.

One thing I have thought up from when I had my Centro - I had once where the phone wasn't getting a sufficient charge through the wall outlet (basically I had a bad power strip). Phone would register 100% battery and it'd then plummet after being disconnected (it lost 30% in 15 minutes). Swapping outlets fixed the issue. I've also noticed that my phone tends to lose power while USB charging if I'm using it (I'm very, very hard on my equipment usage-wise), so it will show that it's charging even if it's not getting a full charge.

One thing that does concern me, however, I do hear a whining noise from my wall charger for the phone (it's actually a bit annoying while I'm trying to charge my phone at night when there's no background noise to drown it out), is that normal or should I swap out for another charger (I have multiple chargers that'll accept the USB cable that came with the phone, so not an issue)

My charger does not make noise but I did notice that it is rated at 700 mA rather than 1000mA. Most phones with this size battery come with a 1000mA charger. I did not look at the specs for the phone to see if there is a maximum charge rate given.

I also have a bit of a noise from my charger, but it's only when the phone is "thinking" really hard, like when it was installing the v9 update. When the phone is idling, no noise. Very strange. I've gone to using all of the chargers that I used with my Samsung Moment have have not heard any noise.

I think that's a good thing. Charging at lower rates in general is better for batteries, but obviously, it takes longer. Higher charge rates tend to heat up batteries too much.

I use my moment accessories too. At least it made the moment good for something other than my daughter's new angry birds lite toy

Sent from Optimus S with OC kernel and THUNDERom.

Mine has the same noise. The reason it gets louder is because it begins to draw more power at those times, but it really doesn't seem like an issues. Probably has something to do with the lower charge rate.
