I agree. I typically don't use 4-6 hours SOT in a single day, but when I travel and an doing all my emails from my phone and using my phone as a GPS, I can easily get above 6 hours SOT. I'd like 7-8 hours SOT over the course of a day, just for those days when I'm away from a charger.

This phone is a battery beast... 5+ hours of SOT, with a screen this big from a device this overall size and thickness.

To be realistic though, the OP is comparing an old device with a brand new one. ALL batteries lose capacity over time with repeated charge-discharge cycles. This is why I will always prefer a replace-able battery if given the choice. Buying a new device every time its internal battery loses capacity is not an option for me. A more realistic comparison would be to compare a relatively new S7, or one that recently had its internal battery replaced.

5 hours is alright. It's not groundbreaking but it's a good number, though 10 hours of total uptime is a little "eh" in my books.

Since when is 5 hours of SOT not impressive? No one is getting 10 like poster above states. Not unless you're on WiFi and occasionally plug your phone in during the day whether in the car or in the office.

I think no one said 5 hours is unimpressive.

It's just that some of us are used to phones that regularly get more, so 5 hours, while certainly good, is not mind-blowing.

Definitely a matter of perspective - coming from my G3 where making it to 3 hours of screen time was a goal, hitting 5 hours on my G6 is pretty amazing. And yet I find myself jealous still of my brother and a friend both with the Z Force that can somehow get more on the internal battery, and adding the battery mod makes it completely unfair.

I don't know if it's just me with phone idle never dropping below 2nd place but if it isn't and we all have the same experience with that, then hopefully LG gives us Nougat 7.1 and corrects it. Maybe we'll get another hour then, but probably not.

Some people are power users who have to have their phone in all day. I do not envy them. I'm happy I can use the phone all day, doing what I need to do.

It's not for everyone, but i think that it's more than good enough for 90% of people.

Screen on time is not a good indicator... It depends on what you you are doing with your screen on time.

I think 5 to 6 Hrs of SOT is very good... On my Axon 7 I get around 4 to 5 hrs of SOT but it's my daily driver lot of calls.... Internet... Forums.. Little games.. Snapchat instagram I think that's OK.. It gives me around 16hrs in a day and iam happy plus quick charge 3 is soo handy

5 hours of sot is really good in my book. I'm a heavy user and my G6 is on par with my 7 plus battery wise.

I wish my battery life was on par with my s7 edge but it isn't. I see people talking about having around 4 hours of SOT but I am no where near close. Love this phone but total Bummer.
