Battery life not lasting? Your fix is in here

Battery level is at 15%

Up Time 13hours 36mins
Awake time 3hours 55mins

A big improvement from the past few days

GenericMessage, that may be a complaint from a lot of people, but coming from someone who has used a few different smartphones (with capabilities similar to the Incredible), I'm here to tell you this is EXCEPTIONALLY bad. Key word: "exception", as in, NOT the norm, different, unusually bad. Of COURSE smartphones drain batteries more quickly than dumb phones, I think that's pretty obvious. But when my battery is at 30% after 4 hours of "use" (I read two e-mails this morning, that's IT, and had absolutely nothing enabled aside from Verizon's network and Location) something is WRONG...

Sorry but it's just getting annoying seeing people try to justify abysmal battery performance by saying "oh don't worry, it's just a smartphone, that's what they do!". A smartphone should last the day, plain and simple.

I agree whole heartedly, sadly if they do, one of two things must be given up;

1.) Capability/speed/awesomeness

or

2.) Size of the device.

Extended batteries are just horribly ugly!

there is always an OEM size option though like the 1750 is for the Inc

howarmat, so now that you have had a couple of days what kind of life are you getting from the 1750maH?

18 hours to a day basically....it took a long time to figure out the right settings and what apps (IM, Seven) that were eating battery like mad.

That's a pretty large increase in life. As of right now with everything turned on but BlueTooth I can average 5-6 hours before a recharge. If I turn stuff off and ration a bit I can stretch it out for a full work day, but I hate having the latest and greatest and can't use it to it's full potential all the time for the whole day.

From what I'm reading the 2150mah should be coming around the corner pretty quickly, and if you are getting that kind of time with the 1750 maybe that would mean I can leave all the play pretty's in place and still manage 12 hours or so without a recharge. Plus rumor has it, it will only add 1-2mm of thickness to the phone which wouldn't really be noticeable. Come on Verizon get them in stock!

If you know how to properly use a task killer, know what is safe to kill, know what processed you need and what is safe to get rid of, they can be beneficial in some situations. The blanket statements such as "task killers are bad for your phone" or "task killers won't increase the performance on your device" aren't always true.

If you do decide you want to try one out, take a little time and research the Android OS, as well as your particular Task killer. As others have pointed out, blindly using task killer just to make your phone run faster can result in undesirable effects.

In 90mins I went from 100% to 60% on my battery. As soon as I unplugg I can see the battery Drop 10%. I just wish I can charge faster then 4 hours that's insane.

How much longer is the 18 hours than what you were getting with the stock OEM?

With that deep a drop, I'd bet your phone is never going to sleep (even though it may look like it is).

From day one I have been doing this and have had zero battery issues. Every night around 10:00pm (give or take) I turn my device OFF, then charge my phone until I wake up around 7:30am (give or take) Get up, turn the phone on to a 100% charge and it lasts all day until I charge it again that night. I'm not constantly on the phone using it but I don't just stare at it all day either. I don't shy away from browsing the web, surfing through marketplace, listening to my city's local police scanner (cool app btw) texting, etc. I firmly believe that charging it while it is off is the key here. In addition I have done the obvious, reduce backlighting, turn off wifi,gps,haptic-feedback etc UNLESS needed. Try it out.. Good luck.

They have, hence the extended batteries coming from them. Now you can argue if they did it on purpose to make a bit extra off the phone. Personally I'm still trying to decide if I want to risk the 1750 or wait for the 2150. The 3500 will be too big for my taste and even though I normally go for function over form I have to have some form too!
