Battery life on ics

Yes I'm using the same cdma auto prl. I'm going to put it on that setting again and then attempt to restart the phone and leave it there.

I had hopes ICS would have improved battery life over GB but after 3 days of being on ICS all three days have shown worse battery life based on average usage. Obviously no days usage is an exact match to the next but with GB I use to finish the day with 50 or 60% remaining on average, the last three days of ICS have been 50, 40 and 20% respectively.

No good. Same issue. My battery is also suffering slightly and I believe that its do to the lack of built in CDMA toggle.

I am considering the Maxx or SIII or simply waiting for the Razr HD. Can any of you with ICS comment if the camera got any better?

Thanks

I'm still having issues with battery life while using Smart Actions on ICS. Same issue I saw on GB. I get much better battery life when I leave Smart Actions turned off.

Don't have ICS yet but I've read in a few posts on various threads here that the camera has been improved. Much better (with examples posted) in low light.

Much improved. Pics posted on another thread so I don't want to repost here.

I have had the Galaxy Nexus, stock ICS, for 7 months before getting the razr maxx this friday. The camera app itself is greatly improved over the previous version. The instantaneous shutter is awesome, however Im pretty sure it is not as quick on the Maxx from videos I have seen.(I think) The SIII I do not know about. Also, I love the fact that you can take panoramic shots with the ICS camera.

Hope that helps! If there are any more specific details you want I'd be happy to answer.

What? Confusing post is confusing.

So the camera on the Maxx or Nexus is better? Also, I can take panoramic pics on Gingerbread with my Maxx.

I'm having the same battery issues, before ICS I would end the day at 50-60% now it's down to 20-30%. Yes, I'm using it a little more to find out all the new features but didn't think it was that much use. Still it's a great update and I like how I can disable a lot of the bloat on a non rooted maxx.

Just installed ICS and it sure uses more memory when I look at my running services list. Will report on how battery life is after a few days.

For me, battery life took an immediate dip right after the update, but returned to normal after 3 or 4 charge cycles. It may have improved on its own, but I did try a couple of things, including fully charging it while it was powered off, and doing a system cache partition wipe like so:

Wiping the cache partition

-Power the phone off

-Press and hold the volume down, volume up and power button until the recovery screen appears.

-Use the volume down button to select "Recovery" and then press the volume up to confirm the selection.

-The phone will do a little reboot thing, display the dual core logo thing and then an Android next to a triangle with a yellow exclamation point will appear. At this point press the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time.

-If you did everything correctly you are now at the Android System Recovery Screen. To clear the cache press the volume down button until you have selected "wipe cache partition".

-Press the power button to confirm the selection and it will wipe the cache partition.

-Once the cache is cleared press the volume up button to select "Reboot System Now" and press the power button to confirm the selection. If the "Reboot System Now" is already selected then just press the power button to confirm the selection and the phone will reboot.

Been "soaked" since Saturday. Or was it Sunday? Lost track of time with all the playing with the phone.
Anyway, yeah, I truly felt that my batter life took a hit with this OTA. Tried all kinds of things, and yes, I put and LTE switch app in, so that I could keep it on CDMA, since I am not in an LTE area. Yes, I have a MAXX, but I should not put a 100% charged phone on my nightstand (with a night time Smart Action in place) and wake up to 70%.
So, I will try out clearing the cache, thank you... let's see if that will help. Today I will be in a 4G/LTE area, so for that timeframe, I will turn on LTE/CDMA as an option....pretty sure I will see a phone that rises into the triple digits on temp, though.

Will wiping the cache partition have any effect on "cached" Google Music albums?
