Battery Life on my Z Fold 3.

Definitely happy with my Fold 3 battery, used normally through out the day and almost nearing the end of day with still 30% remaining.

My Google play services were high in the background as well. Maybe that's normal? After the first week with my Note 10+ I stopped looking because it was never a problem... Hopefully the same here too

Re: Battery Test

Haven't been fully on it but looks like it's going be pretty good

what are your expectations for "pretty good". I am now 4 days in and I am getting pretty "awful" battery life. Looking like a 4 to 5 hour SOT phone over the course of a day. Today, during my "normal" usage, I have dropped to 60hz, put most apps into deep sleep and use the phone like normal. Off the charger at 715 am. SOT of 2 hours. Total battery usage 53%. No particular apps are causing problems. Looks like standby drain of 2 to 3% per hour plus 2 hours of SOT. After a full day, that would get me to 4.5 ish SOT. Also, on wifi almost all day. Not sure what to expect here but this seems pretty damn poor. My iphone 12 pro max was getting 7 to 8 hours a day SOT. I wasn't expecting that but I wasn't expecting this either. Just trying to understand if my phone has an issue or what. I've seen battery reports that are all over the place. Many reviewers only getting 3 to 4 SOT and then some people claiming 7 SOT. What gives with huge disparities.

Played a like 15 min game of wild rift and drained like 1% per minute. Gonna probably send it back.

Getting poor life too. I can watch the percentage drop about every 3 to 4 minutes on the big screen. It's maddening. I don't understand how some are getting SOT of 7 hours on this thing. This is probably the worst battery life I've had on a phone in 5 years. Nothing seems broken. Maybe I'll try a hard reset but what a PIA that is.

I can't help you. I am yet to have a phone that can last me all day. The fold lasted on par with my 21 ultra. I did have it closed most of the day. At work....

I still have to test it out but 24hrs 3 hours sot , I'm on vacation so will test more in about a week . That's with 85 maximum charge you can now set in device care and charging at about 7 percent

Remember, your phone will do this for first 3-4 days. It will learn. So give it sometime to learn your habits.

Yeah, I'm on day 5. I will say this - it's pretty unacceptable. I need to decide if I can live with it I suppose. I expected some trade offs on battery but it's not fun having battery anxiety all day.

That sounds about right but 3 hours SoT isn't great even at 85 percent. I am also limiting my charging to 85%.

I haven't specifically measured it but I do not feel any difference between battery life in the Z fold 3 or the S20U or the Note 20U. When I use any of these devices a lot I charge as often as needed but I'm usually near an outlet. When I know I'm not gonna be near electricity I carry a battery pack If I ever anticipate being out for extended periods.

So far mine is doing the same as my Note 20 Ultra. Battery seems to doing fine for me.

I'm not getting great battery life and after coming from an iPhone 12 Pro Max it's pretty shocking. I concerned that if I have to top the Fold 3 off several times a day the battery will just wear out but it only has to last me a year at most. The iPhone battery life really spoiled me.

Other than the battery life I love the Fold 3.

I'm getting 5 plus SOT with some battery still left before i go to bed when I measured couple of times. Haven't turned off any features (not my thing to turn off things), adaptive brightness, 120 hz and everything else mostly on default settings. I also think variations in battery life depends on how much time you are spending on the front screen vs the full tablet screen? I do use the tablet screen while watching videos etc but I also use the front screen a lot while browsing forums, reddit etc. Could be that's why we are seeing vast difference in battery life depending on how much time you spend using the tablet screen vs front? Just thinking out loud.

Got up around 0200 PST, it is now 1700 hours, Still have over 30% left with great amount of SOT. Not complaining.

I know its going be more then that , but if your not happy then return it .
I didn't get this device to have best battery life in a device , i bought this device because i didn't want a tablet , i wanted the screen when it opens up for media consumption and then put in my pocket and i think Samsung has done a great job with the fold 3.

In any device you get and battery is your main concern , start using battery saver mode ,60hz screen turn lot things off in settings.
If you want trade battery life for more better experience then leave the device with all its options on and enjoy it .

I always say SOT means nothing because SOT while watching a video file, surfing the net on mobile data, surfing the net on wifi, watching youtube, playing a game, etc. - all will yield different results as each one takes a different level of processing power, so it's pointless to compare from one person to another, unless it's like that video where each phone was doing the exact same thing. We get so obsessed with SOT as if it should be a main indicator of battery life, and for the most part, it really isn't.

That said, I find so far that my battery drains faster using the cover screen vs. the inner screen for some reason. Probably because of the tasks I am doing on the cover have been more intensive. My phone is still learning, so I hope it gets better, but so far I can't say I am impressed with the battery life for me thus far. From about 4:45p (100%) to now (12:40am), I am down to 30% with only 2.5 hrs of SOT.

I feel the same way about SOT
