Nice smooth..

My gf just got the S4 and her screen seems to randomly turn on when the phone is locked. Any ideas? This is causing some drain for her.

I had that battery, but it decreased my signal by a lot...do you experience this?

Havent really noticed it... if i do, not to the point where I drop calls or miss text messages.... overall im very pleased with it.. plus here in the Dallas area signal is great regardless of where im at..

Ok, what the h*ll is wrong with my battery then? Like what is that bloody gap in the middle of the graph?

This can't be right, can it? Almost fully charged but only 1 hr or so left on my battery? Brand new phone, turned off most notifications, air gestures, etc. as suggested. Honestly, I'm doing the same things I always did on my iphone 4 and the battery life is simply horrible. Last night, I took a picture after charging my phone fully. When I woke up, the "active" camera app had eaten 25% of the charge.

edit: and i always have my screen set to 10% brightness.

I really do love this phone, after getting used to android--except for the battery life.

How did u get 22% on the screen usage??? i am getting around 60%...can you help.

Most new displays are very bright so 50% is like 100% on older phones. I usually have both my Nexus 7 and my Razr HD set to about 15 to 25% unless I'm outdoors.

Turn of auto-brightness...it is NOT a power saving feature and it will consume considerably more power than just leaving your brightness set a static level (assuming that static level is at least below 50%)

Never. I'm certainly not throttling the CPU.

I agree. Set your screen as low as comfortable. The 0-100 really has no meaning.

Hmmmm Maybe turn the camera app off. Unless you you need instantaneous picture access when sleeping of course.

that was just a fluke--i didn't think it would keep running after snapping one picture. but it sure did eat a lot of battery life!

the thing that surprised me is the time it claims i have on a fully-charged battery. looking back at everyone else's screenshots, they have much more time left, on way less charge. unless i'm not understanding that feature correctly.

for example--someone on a 59% charge has one day+ left on their battery (page three of this thread), but my phone--with 98%--has 1.4 hours left?

thanks for any and all replies, by the way. this forum really helped me get used to my alien samsung :)

I think you are interpreting the readings incorrectly. On your screen shot I see that your display says that 1 hour 41. minute and 7 seconds on battery. Just like on the iPhone. When you fully charge the device, and when you unplug it, you get a standby time, thus it's when you unplug your device from the charger is when it starts counting. So that 1 hour 41 minute means your standby time since you last fully charged and unplugged it.. It does NOT mean you have 1 hour 41 minutes left till it's dead.

Screenshot_2013-12-08-21-29-30.jpg

Here is an example of mine. If you can see from my screenshot, It displays 1 day 13 hours 33 minute on battery. This means that 1 day 13 hours and 33 minutes ago is when I unplugged it from the charger and has been running on battery for 1 day 13 hours and 33 minutes and is at 22%. And it does not mean that I have 1 day 13 hours and 33 minutes left.

How are you guys getting so much battery life from your phones? I see up to 12 hours of screen on time, and I'm not getting anywhere near that great. I get up, my phone is at 100%. In like 45 minutes, I'm down to about 95% with only 5 minutes of light web bettering l browsing on LTE. Phone sits off all day in pocket at school. Then in the 2 hours commute to another school, I'm down to about 75% with possible music playing and nothing else. Then on the car ride home, I'm on the web heavily, and by the end of the night I'm down to about 30%. Only things ever on are WiFi when at home, vibration, and power saving mode. I end up with about 2 hours plus of screentime. I also use Snapdragon Battery Guru on my device. Can anyone help me with figuring out if this is normal, and if it's below average how I can fix it. Any help is appreciated!

Since the damn bug ridden 4.3 update for the S4, I have to charge my phone at least once a day!
