Battery Life Suddenly Gone

There are numerous reports on the Samsung Support forum of Galaxy 'Gear' watches suddenly losing battery endurance, mine included. Symptoms are loss of 100% charge in less than 12 hours that started a couple of days ago. I haven't made any changes at all (no settings changes, watchfaces, apps, etc.) nor have there been any software updates that I'm aware of.

Anyone else out there having this problem? Perhaps another N7-Gate-like disaster?

Delete the Wearable app. I believe that was the problem not Samsung Health.

Well, more than a year after the last post, my s3 classic has started with the draining of the battery. It’s a “Amazon renewed” which is supposed to have battery equal to at least 80% of new. Initially, I was getting over 2 days between charges. I’m guessing there’s an app running wild. Trying a reset to see if I can figure it out.

Never ever buy used and returned, or "renewed", as the Amazon third party scammers like to call them.... they are pallet bought junk. I bought 4 "renewed" items in a row that were someone else's returned garbage.... didn't work of course, returned them immediately and only buy new on sale now. My wife's recently been down the same road, except her last couple devices limped along for awhile like yours before dying... so she's finally decided to listen to me lol. Your "renewed" watch battery is dying....learn from this and move on ;) But definitely try a factory reset before you completely write it off though.

The good thing about "renewed" is there is a 90 day return window. I did the reset and fully charged it. Wore it last night to track my sleep. 8 hours later, the watch was at 15%. I then checked the battery usage and S Health used 47%. Not sure how to slow that down.

OK, my problem has been rectified. After the reset, I started to get overwhelmed with updates for the watch. Not sure why after a month of having it the reset triggered it but not before. Initially, I thought all the updates really messed it up. The watch that day was basically unusable. It wouldn't go into apps and took forever each time I tried. Then, all of a sudden, it started to function correctly. Battery life has been really good. This morning I still had over 30% left after 45 hours off the charger. I'm really pleased with how it's working now.
