Battery life thread

Do you use corporate sync, exchange E-mail push notification? I do, but I will try enabling background data again. Not that my battery life has been terrible, but I feel it could be better.

No, I don't use any of that. Try it out, it might give you better battery life.

android os WAS dominating my battery (40-60%) and i was onlygetting about 6 hours initially, but after some very tedious trial and error and about 5 factory resets, i isolated 2 apps...screebl and advanced task killer, as being the offenders. i deleted them both and now i get 12-16 hours easy w/ normal use. the os is still using around 20% give or take but i can live with that for now. this is also using 3g, syncing my emails every hour instead of constantly, and wifi and gps off unless i'm using them. what's annoying me now is voice calls. a 10-15 minute conversation logs in about 30% of my battery use. i haven't had the energy to troubleshoot this one yet

My battery life has been a bit worse than expected. Android OS takes up about 25% of my battery use and display takes about 20%. With 4g lte enabled, I get about six/seven his battery life with moderate usage (some Facebook, Web browsing, and a little bit of gaming). I get about eight hours without 4g on moderate use. I am using juicedefender's minimal profile with some modifications, such as allowing it to control my screen brightness. I want to be able to get at least 10 hours battery life on one charge. Anybody have suggestions for me?

UPDATE: i've been using my phone moderately today foot about eight hours, mostly on 3g and still have 43% left, so perhaps my battery just needed some breaking in.

I just set up Juice Defender today, on the Aggressive profile. It's been a very light use day, but after nearly 10 hours on battery I'm at 84%. The main factor is that the WiFi isn't on all the time, only for about a minute each half hour to allow email and weather widgets to sync, and when the screen is on.

My other two modes of operation are in the car, where I have Bluetooth connected constantly, and away from both home and car. I'll have to see how Juice Defender handles those situations and how I should modify it. I know Bluetooth can drain a phone. My old RAZR phone went from fully charged to near zero just being in the car connected to Bluetooth on a 5 hour drive to New England. That's when I learned I needed a car charger and needed to keep the phone on it. That may prove to be the case here, too, but we'll see.
