Battery Life Thread

Light usage. Cell phone coverage isn't the best at my school so take that into consideration. Overall I'm pretty happy.

Do you have a auto-updates on for apps? I have it off and when 20 or 30 need updating and I am on wifi I'll let updating run. Maybe you have lots of apps and they are always updating. I think some apps update, just to get them back on your radar and start using them again.

One big difference from my note 5 it would take a good 30 minutes to update ~20 apps. On the pixel, the same number update in about 2 minutes. That is the biggest difference in processor speed I have noticed since the upgrade.

No. Auto updates are off.:(

All I know is that I find it hard to get the battery below 70% during my regular day. I've never had a battery as awesome as this.

I tried a factory reset with the same results, within an hour, Play Services took over as a battery drain. I did choose to restore apps. However, its the same apps that are on my 2016 Pixel XL, and that phone never had an issue with battery drain.
So I reset it again and will load the apps one by one.

Google really needs to fix this. I can't play this game for too long before I give up.

I'm scratching my head think how do you find time to spend that long in a day on the phone.

5-6 hrs is nothing for those who commute far daily. Say around 3-4 hours to work and back while streaming YouTube. add 2 that gMaps, some pic snapping, Video Chat, Web Shopping, Social Networks and you get there super easy.

How/why would one be watching YouTube during s 1.5 to 2 hour commute?

"watching" is mostly listening.
News, Comedy, Sports, Music, etc.
You also have Netflix , HBO GO, etc.
Checking and responding to emails, research...
Of course there is always Kindle App :)
Point is, our phones are our computers on the go and are being used for navigation, entertainment, work and communication.
5-6 SOT is not that much anymore.

3 hours SOT in 20 hours, still at 48% yesterday.
3 20 in 22 hours today and on 47% now.
Very happy with that

Hey guys, Had the phone for a day and the battery life is amazing. I know people talked about how the fast charge slows down at higher levels but does anyone else's charge make a stop at exactly 83%. mine stops at 83% for a while and eventually will start to trickle higher.

Mine does around there.

I've noticed wierd things with my battery. It used to charge faster and the standby time was incredible when I first got it. The standby time isn't quite as good anymore but still I get decent battery life.

Down to 85% after 45 mins of use: woke up this morning after a full charge, currently installing the most recent software update, while checking email, IG, and FB quickly. Used Google Play store and then otherwise read maybe one or two stories on my phone's feed. Bluetooth and location services are on.

Should I be worried?

I have been looking for an app that turns LTE data completely off when I am on my home or work wifi. Maybe the phone does this automatically anyway?

This just doesn't seem that great, I'm pretty much just surfing the web. I thought this battery would destroy my og pixel XL battery, but it doesn't seem to be that much better.
