Battery Life Thread

^^holy ****.. now that's what I call beast mode. How much battery did you have on, and what else did you do to your phone to save the battery? I'm assuming this is the XL.
I lowered resolution from 2880x1440 to 2160x1080. I dont notice a difference between the two resolutions and I don't use daydream but it makes a pretty big difference frame rate and battery life wise while playing 3d games. Location services was on battery saving although turning that off altogether might save a little more. I use black themes for all of my apps (discord, Metal, Line, Tapatalk, ect). I think that using something like greenify's aggressive doze mode and L speed mod I could probably push this thing to 10 hours SOT. On a side note I was playing this game for 4 hours in that using Oreos pip watching YouTube for alot of it. I'm completely blown away by the battery life in this device. I attached a screenshot of what I was doing for alot of that battery life. Gotta live Oreo for letting me watch Linus and raid a 40 main dungeon lmao.

Here's my battery life story:

Today was a pretty standard work day for me. I may have actually had a bit more SOT than usual. When I got home I took some screen caps and then plugged my baby in. I still had 60% battery left.

I should say I've done absolutely NOTHING to optimize my battery life. I run with Now Playing enables, with the ambient display on.

I don't think I'm going to have any trouble at all living with this battery. Now, battery life is going to be something I really don't worry about.

Forgive me for asking, but it says you've had 1 hr 11 min screen on time and you're at 60 %, and you're happy with that? I don't want to be snarky, just seeing if I'm reading this right . . .

I'm plugging in for the night. At 13 hours and 6.5 hours of SOT.

Facebook was one of my most.. obviously, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled Facebook lite just to test it. Also, I set my Instagram not to run in the background, since that , Facebook and Twitter were my top used. No real viable Twitter replacement, and can't block background activity for that app. But I'll be interested in seeing my results tomorrow for what I just changed today.

OK. So I have a question. Just got my XL on Tuesday and have not had a lot of time to play around with it. However, last night I plugged in for about 20 minutes. I noticed that when I first plugged it in the lock screen said "Fast charging". After about 10 seconds that message went away. Is it supposed to do that? I assumed it meant it was no longer fast charging but I'm not sure.

How so? There's lots to choose from. Unless you mean you don't like the other Twitter apps. I use Fenix 2 instead. It's awesome.
Yes I know, but about those, but they don't quite satiate my needs. I use it for work and have tons of accounts I run and most of the third party ones just aren't quite as fine tuned when you have multiple accounts.

I disabled aod and now playing and I'm ending the day with about 70% left. so I guess it's safe to enable them and see how today goes.

Use Metal it replaces both Facebook and Twitter uses little resources and has black themes. The full version is available for free of charge but you can donate if you want to the dev.

I used to use Metal. I'm using Facebook Lite now.. it's built by Facebook and you have to sideload it.

As for Twitter, I'll have 6 or 7 accounts connected at any given time. That didn't work too well with metal before.

Not bad. Regular Pixel 2. AOD off. Mixed 4G/WiFi use. Adaptive brightness on (used in outdoor sun and indoors too). Bluetooth off. GPS location on.
