Battery Life Thread

Wow... Finally hit the 7 hour mark on my Pixel 2XL. Got 7 hours and 8 minutes from 100% to 6% in 1 day and 10.5 hours! For the first 4 SOT hours I was using data too cause my internet was down most of the day. Charging it now.

Had my pixel 2xl a few days. Battery no good. From full charge to 60% in 8 minutes with no apps - except vpn 5% photos 2% and Camera 1%
I'm charging it every half hour just to run phone, messages and thats about it!

I just went 48 hours without a charge only 4 hours SOT time 22% apps, highly impressive

Can you post your settings and battery life?

What's the best practice for battery quality maintenance. Is it OK to keep plugged in to quick charge setup overnight? Or best to never fully charge to 100% or something else?

Picked up my pixel 2 a couple of days ago, first full day was great today my battery drained like no tomorrow
Any ideas ? Is this normal for Google app to be consuming over 40% no other app is above 5% ?
I've got 19% battery left and only got 2 he 25min screen out of the battery so far today.

DP2 seems to have added significant time to battery life but I will reserve judgement until after further testing

Put it in safe mode and see of the same happens. You'll know then whether it's the phone or an app

I've upgraded to 8.1 and battery life has taken a small hit. I enabled the camera tweak though. I've turned that off now so will see how it goes

Google's new data-saver app Datally really bumped up battery life for me today. I mean, it does stuff that you can already do via Android, but it makes app data management much easier to do.

So on the negative side, I lost some app functionality, but these are apps I don't generally use outside anyway. I haven't had a chance to try out its wi-fi suggestions yet.

Right now I am sitting at 60% battery with 2h 26m of screentime 14h and 7min after my last full charge. Pretty good on the Pixel 2 I think.

Yeah I don't want to lose functionality with my apps so I keep everything on.. but at the same time I have an unlimited data plan as well.

I was thinking about trying this out.. thanks for reminding me..

Might give this Datally a go, will try anything that helps! In the meantime, am getting mixed results, but today it's performing much better than my One Plus 3 ever did - 30% left and 4 hrs. Not bad at all

on a full charge, it says I'm only getting about 10 hours of usage whereas everyone else on this thread is getting 16+. I'm now down to 96% with only 20 minutes of screen usage just by using Snapchat and instagram. is there anyone that could tell me what's wrong? or did I just get a faulty battery :/
