Battery Life - Undersold??

The 7+ is still better for sure, it's interesting that others have different experiences, it no doubt comes down to how it is used, I am not a power user for example.
I feel like my S8+ is better than my 7+.

I've only had the phone a few days and been getting four hours + SOT. I definitely did notice the 6 hour standby with basically zero battery loss. That was definitely sweet.

This is horrible. All of us with Sprint phones will have less than optimized battery performance. I need that optimization to support my 360 Live Wallpaper.

Is there any way to uninstall it if you have a Sprint phone without rooting?
You can disable it using the Root package disabler app (dispite it's name it doesn't need root). You will however need to grant it admin privileges through the adb command.

Instructions on how to grant it access through adb are included in the following link. Very easy to do and I also had to do this on my unlocked European model.

Once set up you will be able to disable any app you want, including system apps.

Good luck.

Battery life is one of the main reasons I believe the G6 is being held back. 4 SOT hours is not a lot these days, regardless of why it only gets about 4 hours. If it's one app causing it, the simple fact that some providers lock users out from uninstalling or even disabling that app is a major problem. Hopefully LG recognizes the problem and fixes it with the G6 and the future variants.

I think fast charging diminishes battery life. My V20 seemed to last longer in the beginning.

This exactly. My V10 was great early and as time went on, it diminished quicker than any phone I had in the past. That's the sole reason I got rid of it for the G6. The G6 is starting be better than what the V10 did for me but only time will tell if it'll hold up.

Batteries will deteriorate over time unfortunately anyway. This is the main reason I dislike non removable batteries as they dictate the lifespan of a device. Maybe this is the real reason most manufacturers don't want to offer removable batteries anymore....

I think the V10 had one weak point, the terrible battery.. lol

A tip I have is that I've always lived by the rule of charging my phone while it's off, unless I'm in a pinch. Heat is a notorious enemy of a battery's lifespan, and charging the phone while it's on (or worse, while using it) will increase the heat more than anything. Doing that constantly subjects the battery to unnecessary stress and will wear the cells out faster.

To back up that claim, my 2.5 year old Turbo still gets me at least 5.5 hours of SOT (it used to be 6.5) and a full day of use. While my wife's DT, which she rarely ever turned off, was barely making it through a full workday without sinking into the teens of remaining battery life.

My battery life has fallen off a bit, especially over the last month, but is still on par with most of the new phones released this year.

The conclusion is that there are ways to optimize the lifespan of a battery, but the method just doesn't jive with people's typical usage.

Good point and idea but not practical for most I would assume. For most, their cell phone is their only means of communication and turning it off is not an option.

This is with GPS on high accuracy. Pretty dope. Had the phone since day one.
