Hey all. Just wanted to check in. Got my Note 9 on launch (128gb blue) and so far the phone is incredible. I switched from iOS to Android last year and cannot see myself switching back. I am coming from a note 8.

So far I feel that my battery life is extremely poor. I barely use my phone during the day (I work for a moving company). I'm constantly on the go. I don't stream music or watch YouTube, I always have good service. Never use the GPS navigation. Always on display is off. I feel like my Note 8 had a better battery life. I posted a screenshot of the battery life under phone maintenance. This is from 745am today until just now around 945.

Does everything seem normal here or does something seem wack? I'm not getting "all day" imo. Not sure what to do! Any advice is appreciated!!
Chris

Something definitely seems off about that to me. It is 2.20pm in NZ - my phone was taken off the charger at 8pm last night. I am on 91% currently, with an estimated remaining time of 1 day + 21hrs. I am not using power saving mode, wifi, & location is switched on, as are most notifications. Admittedly I had it switched to "Do not Disturb mode" for 9hrs overnight, also I have disabled "always on display". I have made one call, sent some texts and done a little browsing today but not much else.

EDIT will try and attach screenshot. Apologies in advance if it doesn't work.

I haven't exactly been keeping detailed notes and data on battery life with Note 9, but I can say it is much better than the Note 8 I had previously.

I'm just enjoying this awesome phone / life assistant right now.

This is the fourth thread about battery life in this forum. The more threads there are for a given topic, the more spread-out the information is, making it harder to find.

Mine currently with pretty heavy usage today...this is what I did
- Get a darker theme
- Auto brightness off
- Google location services off
- Wifi scanning off
- Don't download too many apps that run in the background or turn off notifications for the apps u don't use

I had that same problem. The phone would get hot whenever the screen was on. A factory reset fixed it and now I'm getting 5.5 hrs screen time with 20-30% battery left.Screenshot_20180907-200245_Settings.jpg

What do you lose when doing a factory reset? Since I can't do a smart switch without another phone. I know that I keep up with my Samsung and Google backups. What about all my text and phone logs and pics?

You lose everything on the phone when you do a factory reset. It takes the phone back to it's original state as if you just got it.

You could use a PC to do smart switch also.
