Battery life

Have had the Pixel 3XL since February. I'm a heavy user with lots of 3rd party apps. I figure, why have an expensive phone if you're not utilizing its full capabilities to make your life easier and more convenient?

I'm careful with my battery, keeping it charged at work only up to 80% as most expert recommend. Adaptive battery in settings seems to be working well. You could augment by turning on battery saver, but I've found it limits several other displays and functions that to me keeping it on all the time is not worth it.

I too had a Moto X Pure and the battery was simply awful and drained very quickly despite my best efforts at battery management. i've got a wireless stand both at work and at home next to my bed, so it's easy enough to keep it charged up to 80% during the day. I also run a battery management app so I can see the health and it has helped with understanding how to use my battery better and how to better charge it. Still, I'm not overly impressed with the battery life, but it's so much better than my Moto X Pure, I'm not complaining.

I agree, I don't have a huge amount of applications on my phone like I used to have. Only reason is I only have the apps that I actually use on my phone.

Does anybody know if there's an expected fix to the battery draining issue? I literally walk to my job and left with 100% charge and when I got to work it was at 97% with hardly any use but text messaging.

I've disabled Digital Wellbeing a while ago, I do not use Bluetooth so that's off, and I hardly have any third party apps installed. I don't use Always On Display or Now Playing feature.

I cannot explain why the battery drains so fast without heavy use aside from the latest update. I also recently purchased the phone so this is very disappointing considering I have an old iPhone 7 whose battery stays at 100% a lot longer. I don't want to return the phone because if it's a software update issue it's not going to solve anything.

I'm just really disappointed as I would love to make this my daily driver. I'd hate to have to get rid of it.

Any suggestions or is this just a "wait til the next update" sort of thing?

It's definitely a true issue but with so many ways to charge my Pixel it really dosent matter anymore. When I am at a all day event I carry a portable battery pack that fits in my pocket and it can charger my Pixel 4x on one charge.

Like I've said in the beta 5 thread, on Q beta 5 on the pixel, better life did take a beating. .
