Battery life

It did seem like a pretty amazing device! With a stronger processor I'm sure it would've been even better!
Or even a weaker one lol.

Basically, ANYTHING besides the one it had.

And even then, to this day, I consider using one again as a primary device... then I remind myself of the performance and just stay on the KEY2 lol

Since battery life is of paramount importance to me for a device (I mean, it's a mobile phone after all) that's why I rather get a consistent 5.5 - 6.5 hours SOT than to struggle to get 5

Honestly, I feel like Google took a huuuuuge step back with the Pixel 4. I can safely say this is the worst Pixel device ever made in regards to the battery life. It's definitely worse than the original Pixel.. Even with all the god damn optimizations I've done and setting a dark theme for everything, still can hardly squeeze 3 hrs SOT out of this thing!!!

Did you restrict certain apps from using battery? Also, I don't have a lot of apps on my XL. I noticed my Amazon Music app and ESPN app were using some battery and I hadn't opened those apps. You can uninstall them or restrict them. I chose to remove them.

My first full day with my Pixel 4 XL. I'm happy getting up at 7:30 am and going to bed at 12:43 am (the next day) with this SOTScreenshot_20191104-004332.jpg

once again lost like 15 percent overnight. and I see Google as active the whole time the phone is off the charger even though I don't really use Assistant.

any suggestions or thoughts?

To me you can't tell real battery usage when you put your phone in battery saver mode and you have a Black and white Screen.

It disables some of the functions of the phone,
And that is not how I am going to use my phone.

No notification light on P4

That is kind of sad.

However, I turned off the LED light on my Pixel 2 and exclusively went to AOD. I tried to go back and it was difficult. But it was still nice to know that I had the option in case I changed my mind.

I hear you on that but I expected that as everyone has gotten away from that. Coming from the original pixel and many Blackberries before that I was used to that light and would be able to glance at it quickly to see if I had anything coming in. I'm used to not having it but as you stated options are sometimes a nice thing to have

I'm going to drop this here for the next time a person complains about the battery. I will say there are days--not many--when the battery drains faster due to overuse, but this was one of my typical usage days. Also, I am not a gamer.
