Hey guys this is my first post on the forum. I used to have a gs3 before I g?t my xperia z. I was playing candy crush on my phone and I was playing for about 20 minutes, I came off the app and my battery had gone down to 40% from 100 in 20 minutes is this normal?

can be. you are just getting used to phone? keep an eye on whats using the battery. look in setting under more data usage

Yes, take a look at what is using up battery. Once you get used to it you'll know what uses the most battery.

I've heard all over that the biggest thing against the Z is the battery life...a shame because it's a beautiful phone.

i disagree, my lasts very long with moderate to heavy use, at least 30 hours

It's battery is no power monster, but it is still quite decent. There's probably something going on on the OP's phone.

Games are notoriously power-hungry, but this is ridiculous. What was the luminosity of the screen set at ? Did you check what was running in the app manager ?

okay so i have now had the phone (xperia z c6602) directly from sony and man its good but i am sooooo close to returning it the battery is terrible i have to charge this thing sometimes 2-3 times a day. and i have stamina mode on i can bring up twitter with the battery at 100% within 10 mins of being on twitter the battery will be down to 88% that is nuts so smartphone high end especially should drop that quick. I don't think i can stand that fact that i paid with next day shipping 630 bucks to have a phone that i have to always charge more than two times a day any advice and yes i have stamina mode on with only like 3 apps allowed to keep working while on.

I've had my z a month or so and o find the screen to be the big battery hitter, low brightness, auto On/Off any setting, just seems to drink battery! Think Sony should have beefed it up a notch with the screen being so clear, certainly do have to watch how much I use mine if I want to last a day without charge :(

Could it have something to do with the Bravia engine being on? Just a thought.

Shouldn't of drained like that you may need to check ur settings. However after this latest jelly bean update 4. Whatever it is there is a big battery drainage issue my aadvise do not upgrade!
