Battery Question

I just got a new battery for my bolt. Should the phone be powered off when swapping batteries?

ummmmm yeah. power off . then make the swap.

It is always best to power off the phone to allow the operating system to properly shutdown. A battery pull is typically only recommended when the normal power off procedure isn't working or there is some other problem that only a battery pull will reset/cycle the device to try to restore normal operation.

Should a new battery be charged completely with the phone off before use?

I swap batteries without powering it down first and I've never had a problem.
