Battery reading incorrect after ICS update?

I've read a lot of people posting that battery life is much worse after the ICS update. Are people who are experiencing poor battery performance the stock readout or do you have a separate widget that you got from the play store? I only check my battery power through the stock settings on the phone and I noticed something strange. I charged my phone and after about 2 hours later it read as 60%. I checked again about 4 hours later and it was still at 60%. I checked again about 3 hours later and it was still at 60%. I find it hard to believe that I could use 40% of my battery in 2 hours and then absolutely none of it over the next 7 hours. I'm wondering if for some reason it just isn't reading correctly and that why people think they're getting poorer performance with ICS.

I noticed that while.charging my mobo task killer will only say like 60% done while the top battle symbol will say 100%

After letting a new OTA 'settle down' for a few days, I try to make a point of re-calibrating the battery - essentially teaching the phone where the low and 100% charge levels currently are. My launch day Bionic now has over a year's use on it, so it ain't new no more!

My procedure is to let it discharge to 15%, turn the phone off and plug it in to a wall outlet - overnight works best for me.

Next morning turn it on, run an app or two and check the battery. Since the stock 10% increment readings can report 100% even if it's only 96%, turn it off and plug it back in again for an hour or so...check again.

Now the phone should be aware of the high & low readings more realistically.

I may go buy another regular battery for it so it'll really be like a new phone, again!!

I'll try the recalibrating trick and see if it helps. It would be nice to have an accurate gauge of how much power is left in my battery.
