Battery since update

I thought my battery life was down also with normal use. Was going to say something but this last charge seems to be better. This weekend has been light to moderate use and I'm above 40% at 24hrs. I even streamed an hours worth of Netflix at lunch yesterday. I still have over 1400mah of juice left while typing this message. That's just unreal. Nexus users can have their screens, I'm keeping this thing. Going to see how far I get today:-)

Update: It made to 1D 6h as it hit 10%. Used it more in the car streaming pandora and texting. Think I can live with that:-)

Battery was fine after the update. i just noticed that when i put it in my pocket when im at work, it gets warm. idk why it does that? no app is running nor did i leave the screen on.
i also noticed that it restarted after i got a call from my dad. he called me again and i heard nothing from his end. i called him, and it went fine.
after that i went home, used wifi to surf some pages and ran no app. guess what, it restarted again. ridiculous. idk what happened. no app is running other than the browser. :-\

did someone else experience this? please help.. :(

Something else must be running, besides the browser. Look in your settings under running apps and also battery.

I have also been experiencing terrible battery life since it updated, although it seems to be improving somewhat since the first couple days when it hardly lasted half a day, still not back to what it was before, but lasts almost an entire working day for me, about 10 hours, still significantly less than before. Since the extended battery life was my primary motivation for getting this phone, this is seriously troublesome and if cannot be fixed may well return the phone as defective.

Is this self-healing or something? Can someone please explain to a computus ignoramous what this cache thing is all about and whether this is worth trying?

TIA,

Mines sitting at 86% at 21 hours and I play 18 hole of golf yesterday using SkyDroid. I think that's better than before the update.

Last week (before the update) I had to go to Quebec for 3 days and forgot the charger. Got here with 35% remaining and by shutting off all data, turning the phone off at night and keeping phone use to a minumun, I actually got home with enough juice to call my wife and tell her I landed.

This is one great phone.

Give it a week or so. The new update needs to "settle in"

I've been experiencing terrible battery too since the update. I'm at 20% now after unplugging it fully charged 6hrs ago. Kind of pissing me off because this happened all weekend.

I have been using it pretty heavily, but when I use it this much, I used to get through most of the day and not have to charge it.

I'm not experiencing restarts at all so unless you see more people with the issue, take a good look at your apps and maybe start over with them adding them one by one. Something may not be compatible now. Focus on apps that could have been affected by the update list.

What we all need to attempt to do is determine what the users with improved performance are doing that users with worse performance are not. Hard restarts or not, rooted or not, charging routine and so on. I personally am not rooted, felt my battery life was worse for a few days after the update but now seems better. This last charge was the only time ive ever gone below 50%. I took it to 10%. I use 3G frequently to conserve but I'd say I split time with 4G too. I have performed a hard reset and have no task killers other than what's built into my Go Launcher. Let's see if we can find out the discrepancies. :-)

My battery life since update seems to have deteriorated. Anyone else feel that way? Is there something I can due to adjust phone?
Just curious seems like it eats up the power more rapidly.
Any thoughts?

Nope. Mine is better.

Battery life for me has deteriorated since the update. Also when on a call last night the phone went into standby mode and would not come out.. about 2 minutes after the call was ended the phone reboot. never had that happen before the update. Had better battery life before the update.. man I'm getting seriously worried about these updates..

My battery life seems normal to me.

Non-rooted currently using Launcher Pro (getting ready to check out GoLauncher).

Updates are like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get.

Seriously though, I hope the issues clear up for you. Maybe a phone reset is in order (hold Power and Volume down for 15 secs)?

Significantly more battery will be used while on 4G. That's why the MAXX is awesome as it lets me get through the day while on 4G. If you don't want 4G, you can always to the settings and under Wireless and Network, turn it to CDMA only so 4G doesn't activate.

I have also noticed that my battery is draining quite a bit faster since the update. I used to be able to go 14-16 hours of moderate use and end the day still around 40-50%. Since the update, I'm usually in the 20% danger zone. The phone also seems to be slightly laggy at times which wasn't an issue before.

One definite related change I have noticed - when I go into settings >battery information> battery use, the android OS is by far the biggest battery hog, almost always at the top utulizing 40% plus of the battery drain. This was never the case before -it was usually the display or some other app I had been using heavily. So it seems as though the update definitely has increased the OS usage of battery power.
