Battery won't hold charge

Hi razr owners! My daughter has been using my old razr and the battery just isn't holding a charge anymore. I've heard of people trying to replace this "non" replaceable battery. Has anyone here had luck doing this? Verizon is offering her an upgrade but only to the edge program (not real interested as she loves her phone and wants to keep this one) we have to wait until next September to get her regular upgrade. Any advice? Thanks!

Hmm he only shows how to get the back off. He mentioned something about the battery being taped to the inside? Has anyone completed this procedure? I'm a little nervous to open it and not be able to get the battery out.

The back has tape that holds it to the battery. Carefully "peel" the back from the battery. Don't get the tape dirty and you re-use it.
You will need a Torx screwdriver to remove the battery connections. Handle the connections carefully so as not to break them.

Have you tried running the battery to complete dead, then fully recharging? Once you turn back on, start deleting social media apps that kill the battery. I ask this only because my wife was giving her fits. She is a teacher so between apps and constantly searching for 4g signals in a school it killed her battery daily. Doing the above almost brought it back to new.

If you don't want to replace the battery, hop on craigslist and look for one. They are really available where I am at. But whatever you do, run like heck from the edge program.

Yep we didn't go with the edge program. Especially since my daughter doesn't even want a new phone every year! She likes to keep a phone. It's just not for her. I did have her run the battery out and recharge it fully. I really think it IS all of her social media killing the battery. Mainly tumblr. Anyways I called Verizon and asked if they would consider giving her a regular early upgrade instead of the early upgrade into the edge program. The girl was at a call center in Arizona. She said she was putting in a request to have her supervisor look at the account etc and she would call back in 2 days. Of course no call. Verizon is so frustrating honestly! Why cant they call back! ? They can say no. It would just be common courtesy to follow up when they said they would! Grrr

I symphathize. This is one the big reasons I left them for T-Mobile. They wouldn't budge on an early upgrade, even at the manager level, after unceremoniously moving everyone from the 18 month upgrade cycle to the 24 month cycle. And they weren't too concerned about my calls to them regarding bad 4G speeds and connections in the tech hub of the world. Of course, when I started arranging the cancellation, it was all, "Oh, what can we do to keep your business?" How about inventing a time machine, going back in time, listening to my concerns, and acting on them?:p
 
AMEN! Yeah I suspect they couldn't do anything for me so that's why I didn't get a call back which is rude. Maybe as it gets closer to her upgrade date next September they will offer early upgrade. Who knows
