So my first full day and happy with this for screen timeView attachment 338378
Out of curiosity how is the standby battery discharge on the device for you Pixel 6 owners on here?
The past days I've used my 5A for very little but browsing on the web and I'm on my third day with 84% battery without recharging! But again I've hardly been using the phone and overnight (7 hours) it was just a 2% discharge while idle.
How is the 6 fairing in this department?
I tested my 3 phones at idle overnight. 8 hours.
S21U...9% drain
Pixel 5a...2%
Pixel 6...11%
I'll have to wait til my 6 arrives to test for myself. I don't expect it to be better than the 5A considering the higher specs of the 6 (which makes me wonder why they chose a lower battery capacity compared to the 5A). If it results not meeting my expectations then sadly I may just return the 6 and stick with the 5A.
Sadly? Why sadly? (Asking as a 5a owner myself.)
Unfortunately I have ATT and it seems there is no way to toggle 5G off. I've looked for the same settings on my Pixel 5A and it doesn't appear. Fortunately I'm mostly on WiFi so it doesn't affect my battery so much. I also disabled some settings on Developer Settings so the phone won't keep data active even while connected to Wifi so that helps too.
Does anyone think that the battery drain problems could be due to Android 12 and not just the Pixel 6? I ask since after my 4XL updated to 12, it started to drain the battery at a considerable speed as related to t when it was on 11. I did no one change as proposed by someone, that did seem to help, that is until a few days later when it started to drain at a higher rate again.
(Don't mention resets, I have done three, two with restores from backup, the last with nothing restored just every thing added one at a time.)
I only ask cause I am interested in purchasing this phone; however, the more I read, here and online at other sites, not sure it would be the phone for me due to a few issues, one being battery.
Hopefully, it is 12, since that could mean an easy fix via an update. If it is just weak batteries; that's a big problem.
