BB pre-orders in?

Did not pre-order because I can't get my upgrade until May 1st. Stopped by my local BB today to take a look at the phone and play around with it. The guy's working said they had ZERO pre-orders from regular customers. The only pre-orders they had were 4 workers at the store who got them today. Thought that was pretty sad, but doesn't change my mind on getting the phone May 1st! Just hope it isn't a sign of HTC going bye-bye, because I have been a fan of HTC since getting the EVO on launch day almost 2 years ago.
