While troubleshooting a recent problem on a Nexus 10, I spoke to both Google and Samsung customer service and learned some interesting stuff.
If you bought your pad from Google play they will provide a replacement unit if needed. If you bought it from another source you have to go to Samsung to get a warranty replacement.
The problem is that the Samsung rep I spoke to didn't know what a Nexus 10 was. I got bounced to another rep who also didn't know and asked me to take the battery out and look underneath for the model number !
Luckily, I was able to get my unit working on my own.
So it looks like it's best to buy from Google Play.
