Beautiful Widgets weather widget not auto-updating

This problem seems to have occurred since applying T-Mobile's latest software update a few days ago.
I have the weather widget set to auto-update every hour, but it has been failing to do so. It will refresh manually. I have removed and reapplied the widget, and also cleared the cache in the applications manager. Location (GPS) is enabled. I'm at a loss as to what else to do to fix this issue.

Try booting in to recovery and wiping the cache partition. See if that fixes the issue.

Thanks for the advice! But, it's unclear to me what booting in recovery does exactly. Your link states I won't lose any personal information, but does it change any system settings?

No it does not it just clears out the cached data off all the apps and some system apps. It ill not clear your data.
