Before I switch to Android

I want the new Pixel when it comes out. But I need to know a few things before I switch.
My gf has a S6.
She can't receive videos I send from my phone. Everyone else that has iPhone can.
When she sends me a video, the quality sucks.
Can I fix that somehow?

The problem is that the messenger is heavily compressing the video, because it's using mobile data to send. I'm in the habit of sharing via Google Photos or Google Drive. It'd be like sending a link from iCloud. Either way, quality will be preserved, and it doesn't matter which platform they're on.
