There's been alot of awesome Android smartphones this past year. The year started off with the Droid and Nexus 1 leading the pack and now it's ending with the likes of the awesome Evo leading the pack. As far as best smartphones running on Android...I'm gonna do a top 3 list. This is just my opinion. These are phones that I thought were awesome and standard setters for sure...
3) The Original Droid. This phone, with the aid of some damn good marketing by Big Red, put Android on the map. I know some claim the G-1 put Android on the map, but I have to disagree. This phone truly put Android on the map, and brought it into the main stream. This phone was also a game changer for many reason. One of the main ones being that it was pretty much the first phone to be able to give Steve Jobbs and swift kick to his...apples. This phone IMO, pwned the hell out of the iPhone of 2009. 5MP camera, dual LED flash, camera capable of shooting in 480p, pretty good processing speeds, beautiful display. The customization, while not as good as the N1 IMO, was and still is awesome. And that's just the tip of the iceberg as far as this phone goes. This was also the first phone, to ship with Android 2.0. And the reason I'm still putting in a vote for this phone is b/c it came out in late 09 almost 2010. So why not?
2) Nexus One - The standard that was set by the Moto Droid...the Nexus one upped it even more. This phone launched with it's 1ghz snapdragon processor and many drooled over it. The form factor..the fact that it was THE Google phone and it and still is receiving Android updates. The customization that you can do with this phone, IMO, is still not matched.
1) Sprint's Evo 4G - This phone, IMO, was THE phone of 2010 (and that's including the iPhone 4) I mean what's not to like about it? Front facing camera, 8MP cam on the back capable of shooting in 720p, the beautiful 4.3 display, running on 4g speeds? IMO, this phone has set the current standard in the mobile world...not the iPhone 4, or a Blackberry, or even a Windows 7 device...the awesome HTC Evo 4G.
