Best browser app?

I'm having this little issue w Chrome.... I also had it happened when I had the HOX. If you are reading something on the web... lock the phone, unlock it again and the page would b frozen... I have to close chrome and reopen it.... Anybody?

If you are refering to the HTC One X, seeing as this is where you talk about the One X, I would eliminate the HTC provided browser from any runnings for best browser on it. Barring the ability to access flash content, the HTC browser offers the same as the Chrome browser, just that the Chrome browser is far faster in terms of speed IMO.

Other browsers are starting to show shine, with their own versions of Incognito and syncing across devices, but I still feel the Google Chrome browser is the most streamlined and speediest offering out there. A close second would be Opera (both the mini and full versions).

Side by side comparisons that I have seen on the net, as well as my own tests show Firefox beta is faster than chrome and has a much smaller memory requirement.

I've un installed chrome till they get the battery drain issues solved. (It uses battery just being on your phone, something to do with that background syncing).

The HTC browser you speak of is the stock ICS browser, which is indeed very good. An it does flash, uf you need that.

I thought Firefox took up the most memory and felt slower in terms of loading websites...but I will give Firefox another try and see how it does against Chrome.

Yeah, this happens to me too. But I live on.

I mainly prefer chrome and dolphin. Only problem is that Chrome murders the battery and Dolphin gets the annoying 3 dot menu button at the bottom. I wrote to them to get this reply:

'' Thank you so much for taking time to contact us! Since the device has no hard menu button, the three dot button acts as a virtual menu button. And I will pass your suggestion along with our team members and we will continue optimizing our UI.

Cheers, Dolphin Support Team''

I actually meant that I want them to incorporate the 3 dot menu button in their UI like many ICS optimized apps have done(eg: Chrome, Firefox, Pulse, etc...)

I just got my phone on Sunday and have been reading a lot about people's different favorite apps for various things. The browser war on Android seems to be between Chrome, Firefox, and Dolphin.

I tried all three and honestly the one I like the most and seems to be the quickest is Dolphin. Love the interface, speed, and UI. Don't mind the three dot menu button at the bottom, don't really notice it to be honest.

I think its just going to come down to personal preference in the end. What your needs and useage are.

When I use the stock browser and click on an image, instead of opening the image in another window like on a laptop, it downloads it to my card.

Anyone know how to stop that so i can just view the image in a different tab?

Doesn't long press open up a menu from where you can select 'Open in a New Tab'?

Gotta say, I love ICS Browser+. I used it on my GNex and I'm using it on my HOX. I love it that much.

I use Opera Mobile and Opera Mini (when im close to my data limit). 1gb of browsing compressed to a little over 200mb :)
