I agree that Best Buy is just one big cluster *uck of possible savings with these damn gift card promos ... I went into my Western Washington store to pre-order and see what I could get ... The first thing is they knew nothing about what was posted to the Best Buy website and or nothing about what was a promo 3 months ago or a year ago ... 2 associates needed to call up supervisors to get my pre-order straight ... I got the $50 (Pre-Order)GC, then $110 (Trade-In) for my Evo3D, Then I asked about the $50 GC Just to upgrade through them on any phone and they both were dumb-struck ... Again they texted and called the "Boss" but received no answer ... I will call today about that last $50 GC.

( All Stackable )

HTC EVO 4G LTE $199
Pre-Order -$50
Trade-In(Evo3D) -$110
Upgrade Promo -$50

Final Cost ------ Receive $10 Gift Card and New Phone

So did they give you the Pre-Order $50 Gift Card while you were there? I pre-ordered last night at Best Buy and I did not get a Gift Card. I thought it would be applied Friday when I go to pick it up?!?!

I received 2 printouts with my name and number and barcodes for the promos ... I will get the GC discounts as long as I have the printouts with the barecodes at the time I "purchase" the phone .

I also received an email with the transaction order number.

SIDE NOTE: The pre-orders are distributed by pre-order date, but the promos don't expire on Friday ... If they get in 50 phones and your the 55th pre-order then your SOL ... BUT you can still get all your discounts on the next batch of shipments (If you can wait a couple of days out).

Yep I just got the answer from the Best Buy Sawgrass location in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This is real deal:

I called best buy and the rep stated this: I have to pre-order $50 now to reserve the phone and when I pick it up, all the promotions will apply to it. Bringing the savings down to just taxes that need to be paid. You put the funds down to reserve just like a video game and all the promos will take care of the rest. The $110 trade in and the $50 off upgrade is fine for the EVO 3D but if anyone gets confused from them saying they get money back that's something different.

Anyone who gets money back is only getting it because the depleted the savings like the 3D getting $160 off total plus they used the $50 gift card from the Phone Freedom promo back in February putting them at an upside down to where they get money back. Or they used the Best Buy "buyback" deal they have when they purchased a device at an early time (like last year). Entitling them to money back but on a gift card so...... If you don't have to put money down now at your store, good for you. You'll pay it at pickup.

What was each barcode for specifically?

I assume 1 barcode was for pre-ordering, what was the 2nd barcode for... the OG EVO Trade In?

Man I wish Best Buy would get it's act together here. Aren't they trying to sell stuff? Why make it so difficult for your customers to make a purchase at a great price. If you're going to run promos make it easy for your customers to understand and what's more... make easy for your employees to understand... no wonder Best Buy is closing 100 50 stores!

Yes the barcodes are the promo deals cause its too much to give out actual cards. That will be 3 gift cards to every 1 transaction which is too much. Read my post it explains everything front to back and if the Reps don't get it, either their (@#$$%&) or they don't want to give you the best deal. Fight for it cause its the ad and the knows exactly what to that's why it prints all the deals.

It is because different stores are setting their own rules and getting away with it. Some managers are forcing people to use the gift card on later instead of being able to use it on the phone. But since it is a BB gift card I definitely wouldn't waste it on their over priced accessories. Plus they are poorly educated on the promotions they are selling. Friday May be a mess.

No it WILL be a mess. Get in quickly and get out quickly and let them figure it out later. And besides transactions and receipts aren't done until the new contract is signed.

My local BB Mobile Store could not give me the price of the phone when it's realeased. I told him the price in the ad. He said he had not looked at the ad. BB needs to train their employees better. Each store has it's own rules i guess.

Ha Ha ... Yeah I don't know whether to go in early to get the most out of the confusion or go in later after they sorted out everyone else's issues to make the transaction smoother ... This is what happens when they have these random as promos months before and then they forget and do additional promos and the associates just got hired with 2 hours of experience.

Does this look Familiar: Best Buy

So you bought a mobile device off contract with Best Buy and spent at least $700 with Including the buyback program. Cause $280 is steep and I don't see Best Buy allowing you to walk in and get a free phone (EVO 4G LTE) $100 bucks in girt card

No I didn't buy the phone off contract. It's called the buy back program. Look into it! And yes I am getting it for free. Well actually paying like $15 or so cause I paid sprint $115 for an early upgrade. Would you like to see the math. 199+ tax about $275+115=$390
Now for my EVO 3d buyback $280 and for my og EVO $50 and an additional gift card for $50. Sooo that's $390-$380= $10. Might be off on tax so give or take a few bucks.

I think people are getting confused on what your phone is worth as trade in value and what you would get back if you have the buyback program. Two different things here guys

Ok new word coming from 5 different Best Buy stores in my region cause now since employees don't know much or too a certain amount, the management is involved. Its pissing me off but here's the new and actual story:

Pre-ordering the EVO 4G LTE provides you with:
$50 gift card (a piece of paper/receipt)
$50 gift card for trade in of OG EVO 4G
Total = $100 savings
From purchase, YOU MAY OR MAY NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE $50 GIFT CARD GIVEN FOR ACTIVATION, FOR THE PURCHASE.

Now if you get to use it, more power to you. I'm happy for you, etc.

Now to everyone else who's ranting over the PHONE FREEDOM promo from February 2012, (which gives customers $50 gift cards for upgrades with Best Buy), the fine print reads YOU CANNOT COMBINE THIS OFFER WITH OTHER OFFERS but like I said before:
Now if you get to use it, more power to you. I'm happy for you, etc.

This also goes for anyway who hold the buyback deal with Best Buy and here's a clear options: You automatically want to pre-order to receive the $50 off plus the $50 from activating will be there so you'll be at $100 savings. Now apply the buyback if its enough to finish the total off and leaving you with the extra $50 from trading in the OG EVO 4G and anything extra in your pocket.

Any questions.........????????

Check me out.....what I'm saying is flat out without any other promos involving:
You're getting the $150 savings but whether or not you can use that last $50 at the time of purchase is the question. And no employees or managers can say yes or no cause you would be pissed if it couldn't and demand them to change it, after giving you a yes. That's why its a waiting game. PRE-ORDER AND WAIT!

This us why I'm preordered at BB and Sam's Club. I'll give BB first crack as they will be saving me the trouble of selling my OG EVO myself. But, if they say the discounts wont stack off to Sam's I go. The difference in California tax make SC a comparable deal (SC charges tax on actual price of $148 BB on retail $700).

Question on price matching... Yay / nay?

Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

I would say yes cause price matching always works out for the best but with these crazy Best Buy workers so it just bite you in the @ss. Only cause the might try to come up with some crap that would void one or all your promotions, just for you to say forget it.
I seen a case where they did something like that and the customer was pissed. They had to give it now since they promised, but no deal for the next person who walked in trying to do the same. Told him, no deal and sent him on his way out.
