Best Buy on 12/11

Honestly i dont expect this phone until January haha. No sources involved, i just dont want to get my hopes up.

Ill be doing some shopping tomorrow at Best Buy anyways so you can bet ill atleast try to get some info if not the phone itself, haha. Id say our chances are at about .0002% but doesnt hurt to try.

Called my best buy in KS, lady said Sunday 12-11. And I asked, if there was any reason it would not be sold. She said 100% I can buy it tomorrow... So we shall see at 9am

Don't forget, BB releases the weekly flyers on Sunday that cover the entire week. It might show up in the flyer on Sunday 12/11, but might not be sold till later in the week.

I wouldn't put much stock into that. If I remember correctly, plenty of people on here had called Verizon stores and were "100% assured" they could buy the phone yesterday, and that didn't end up panning out. Retail employees typically aren't THAT well-versed with every single new electronics device to know about the on-going issues with the Nexus, so while they may be under the impression it can be sold tomorrow, chances are, they'll hit a roadblock somewhere along the way, whether it be their system not being able to ring it up, or Verizon not being able to activate it.

Gentlemen,

I have a bunch of contacts at Verizon Executive Customer service. I had an email into them on Friday morning, and received a call back tonight, very late. It was totally out of the blue... and unexpected for them to call that late on a weekend. I was specifically told "we have no information to offer you yet". This is a highly connected and enabled team I have dealt with a few times and I'm of the opinion that if they could tell me, they would. Before this particular girl even mentioned anything to me, she said, "Brian, this line is being recorded". lol.

I'm just like you guys, I find it very very strange that my local Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile, and my Verizon Store have stock, and can't move on it. Even with a cash bribe of $200 the other night, I couldn't get anyone to move.

As far as tomorrow being the day, I did get similar guidance from BBM. I just called them again, he said "Verizon hasn't announced the phone yet but when they do we have stock to sell". This is now 2 employees at that store saying similar. The other day the girl told me they have the boxes in the back, but if she sold me one she would be fired.

The guy at Radio Shack says he doesn't have stock at all and he "typically gets them 2 days after Verizon announces".

The girl at the Verizon store just smirks every time I visit her, and says "sorry they won't let me tell you anything"

I am in Massachusetts, I'm extremely motivated, and I have a ton of spare time on my hands due to vacation next week. I will certainly let you guys know what I find.

If they don't know any different and their comp says 12/11 why would they be laible and get fired. And the comp lets them sell it.
Why would they be in trouble?

I hate to fan the flames, just called my BB and he said yup tomorrow is the day. The mobile division said that if I could make it before closing he would sell me one tonight. I live an hour away from them but I will take the ride tomorrow. I will post back my findings.

I'm sure they wouldn't be mistaken on getting that phone to you either.

Our RSS system at Best Buy shows the GN as having an In-Stock Date of 12-11-11. This doesn't mean it's for sale then, though. All it means is that full stock is expected to be reached by that date. Since we're a reseller, we didn't reach full stock on the original launch date of the 9th (my store had 4 then, we now have 14). So, by opening tomorrow, most BBY stores will have full stock, but won't be authorized to sell unless Verizon announces it.

BBYM managers should have received multiple emails stating that the phone is not to be sold yet, anyway.

I'm starting to think all this is due to that screen image a bunch of sites posted a while back showing a 12/11 date. There's no guarantee that it's still accurate and some sales reps might be getting bad info if that date still shows up in their system. These new rumors could be based on the hope 12/11 is still accurate. It might not be.

It's still worth a shot. What else am I going to do, tinker with my loser bracket-bound fantasy football team?

The BB in my area might say nope when I try to purchase it. Still not a wasted trip I have shopping to do anyways.
