You're right. That was rather simple.

hmmm. I might have to take the plunge. Another reason I'm holding back a little is because I've never bought a phone as soon as it came out, partly for economical reasons and partly because of my next point......All my other phones have been out for awhile before I've gotten them. Which means, a lot of kinks were worked out with the rooting process, tons of threads troubleshooting problems people had at first, and the ROMS to choose from had most of the bugs worked out. So I guess I'm just a little hesitant being one of the "guinea pigs". I'm guessing by about this weekend I won't be able to hold out anymore lol.

Checked online, best buy that i preordered phones were in. Called them and the guy said come in, no confirmation email required. I got there and the first thing i asked is if my unlimited data still applies. He says let me check and tells me his system says no unlimited available. I told him a coworker of mine got his by having best buy rep contact verizon directly (total lie but better then saying people on androidcentral got theirs grandfathered).

He proceeds to contact verizon and they override system to keep unlimited.

Extra tidbit. He asks if i am going to root phone. I hesitate to answer. He says with best buy warranty, if phone gets bricked they wont grill you and treat you like you have herpes
like verizon will. Just dont out right say you rooted and you should be fine. Also dont make it a weekly routine.

I had to eat crow today when Best Buy let me get the VZW white 32 in place of the blue they did not have, plus said I can replace with the blue 32 when they arrive. Service was outstanding.

I ordered a Blue 32GB on June 6th. I went in to Best Buy today to try to get my order switched from Blue 32GB to a Blue 16GB - they said that I would be unable to keep my unlimited data if they did so as it would cancel my pre-order.

So it looks like I'll have to wait...

Have somebody different help you. My wife was getting the 32 & three same thing happened but they let her switch to the 16 &keep unlimited

I did the buy back plan with the Razr, so paid full price, or would have had same issue.

Supposedly they had a VZW rep in the back of the store and they confirmed that cancelling the 32GB preorder would make it impossible for me to keep unlimited data. I almost just wanted to save the $50 at this point and get the phone I ordered more than a month ago!
