Best Buy Sprint Galaxy Nexus

I hope what you are saying is correct. I was told Friday, today would be very nice after a stressful week of BB madness.

I was also just told that orders will be released to the warehouse to ship today. So if you have the Express Shipping you should get it on Friday. Not quite holding my breath yet, but I like that I'm starting to see a consistent story as to what's happening.
 
That is comforting seeing a consistent story now emerging with us AC members. Not going to hold my breath, but it is hard not to be a little excited for Friday. Just hope I don't get disappointed AGAIN.
 
You guys are aware of the BB struggles they have going on right?

Anyone check the individual BB mobile satellite locations?

They are pretty much spinning the mobile side out of the stores, and into independent mobile phone only locations. May have better luck there, then at the actual store.

BB is going to be cutting costs like there's no tomorrow due to their financial outlook. With store closings already happening, I'm:cool: sure they aren't looking to fill the store with niche style products.
 
I have heard rumblings, never really payed close attention to it. Good thing for me, if everything works out, this will be the last time I need to deal with the Best Buy Mobile at my retail store for the next year or two.
 
Well, at the time of pre-order I printed the Radio Shack website price of $149.99. They took that and said we will match it.

I was just informed today, however, that Best Buy retail stores WILL NOT be getting them in via a Best Buy Mobile manager in the Best Buy retail store in my town. So I said, when was this going to be brought to my attention, the fact that I will never get my phone because it will sit in pre-order limbo. He said your pre-order is to guarantee you get one when it arrives. *Light bulb must be fried for him*. I also asked when I was going to be told all of this information. If I didn't call I would just be sitting in limbo. We all know Best Buy only calls when the item is in stock and flags a pre-order. Thus if no product comes, I would never get a call and have my $50 pre-order tied up for ever.

Finally, after 20 minutes, he said that we can't get it in store but we can "insta-ship" it. I asked how long that would take and he said 5 business days. I then said, if you said you have none in the warehouse how can you guarantee you would get it to me in 5 days. Well, about 5 days but maybe more. So what you are telling me is that I will give you MORE money and still have no definite phone? No thanks. We go back and forth and he has the audacity to tell me that he also can no longer honor my price match with an insta-ship or order. I lost it. Argued some more because he claimed that because no others stores have stock the price match isn't good.

I then asked to speak to a manager/friend there and I was told he would check to see if he was there. I am put on hold for 25 minutes only to be met with the same person telling me my friend isn't there and that he spoke with another manager and nothing has changed. I asked to speak to another manager and then I get transferred to the one he spoke with.

To sum it up, the new manager and I finally saw eye to eye. He informed me the phone has been ordered and will be sent to the store. Because it is coming directly from Sprint he can not track it. He is assuming it should be in Friday and will call me on Saturday with the phone in his hand he hopes, or earlier(once it comes in). Regardless, he will call me Saturday if it hasn't come in. He also said they will honor my price match for both phones and due to the inconvenience and lack of communication on their end, a free accessory(charger)

So, hopefully I will have two Galaxy Nexus for $149.99 and two $50 phone freedom gift cards, and two accessories on Friday/Saturday! I can only hope, because this has drained me. I spend way too much money at Best Buy to not have it work out.


Guys I went to the BBB and file a complaint this is BS. Got an email from the BBB saying they are taking my case. My situation is the as you. You should file a complaint. Ever since GNex was announced I have been asking family for BB gc for Xmas and my bday which was March since I knew sprint will be getting this phone. Im even a reward zone and BB credit card holder...WTF! We need to say something to them and right this thing. Its NOT a pre-order if you dont get the phone on launch its more like a reservation or hold. Bad info given by BB.

Exactly, like I said before...I filled a complaint with BBB on Bestbuy because of their handling of the Sprint iPhone 4s release. Not to mention that after the release, my wife had issues with her phone. I took it to Bestbuy to exchange it and they refused to help me. They said that I'm not an authorized user on the account. Keep in mind, that I went to the same store before and upgraded my kids lines with no problem. Anyways I called sprint right there in the store and they verified that i am authorized user on the account and can make changes, upgrades, add lines etc..

Another complaint with BBB followed...Since that day, I refuse to shop at Bestbuy. That's why I pre-ordered strictly through Sprint. My first GN NFC got borked and they even overnighted me another GN (brand new) to my home.

I hardly go to BB now. This is sad. I have learned my lesson never again. BUt im going to do some damage before I no longer shop at BB. I used to work at CompUSA and I know that the sales people get commission $$$ from carriers. But making people wait and tell them the wrong info. She even told that if they email that the phone is ready i only have 24hrs to pick it up. I was like WTF!! I chatted and spoke with BB mobile online and they said no its 72hrs. Never again with BB. Amazon, Sprint, Wirefly, and newegg all the way from now on.
 
just got off the phone with every BB in the greater San Diego area, none of them have the phone, or have plans to get any stock in.

They did say they could order it for me through BB online and would only match the price of a printed add.
 
Print and ad from the internet. Thus an ad that is printed. Can't argue with that in my honest opinion.
 
Bad news guys....got off the phone with someone from corporate and it seems the stores wont have them til the 8th!!!!

Given that the internal memo I saw said the stores would have them in yesterday (the 25th) and would only get them in then for a one time pre-order shipment... and since I haven't heard from them... I would assume that they have NO CLUE what is going on... and wouldn't put it past them to release it on the 8th. So I am done. I ordered from Newegg ($50 cheaper anyway) and am canceling my pre-order with BB. Newegg GUARANTEES to ship Thursday for delivery Friday.

I am not sure what memo you saw, but the Operations Manager at the Best Buy I have been dealing with said they are releasing the phones to BB on the 25th, and they are being shipped directly from Sprint via UPS. Because of this he did not have an accurate date of arrival for my preorder, but it did show ordered and he would expect it should be here Friday/Saturday based off UPS deliveries. As for selling them in the store, the angry BB Mobile Manager said, they will never get this in the retail stores. I don't know if I can take him seriously or if that was just an angry response for my non acceptance of his poor answers. I guess only time will tell. If I was to put together all the information in this thread, I would say it is plausible to say that preorders will be addressed/filled by this weekend, and retail stores MIGHT get them in stock for in store purchases on the 8th of May.

The way I am looking at it, the price I got I can be patient. The downside, I have to wait. The upside if a better phone(maybe the S3) gets released or a close release date is announced before I take delivery on my GNex, I can cancel for a more powerful phone.
 
Guys I'm talking with someone from corporate. In my area he said the 8th I pre ordered the phone online cause again I have Bb gc I want get rid of. Guess what online is back ordered now. Save yourself the trouble do not go with bb for phone pre orders. I'm going to order my phone through someone else. We are all getting different excuses. The ups excuse is a standard one they gave me that one also. Bb sucks! Take your money somewhere else and have them learn their lesson.
 
Maybe you are right, but I am going to take my chances. Part of me thinks you are just over the top angry and just want to push people away from BB. I feel that the information I personally was given from a Best Buy Operations Manager has been handled well and is accurate. I think most of us are starting to get similar information, the only one recently with different information was you. Also, you aren't very clear in the information you are relaying.

I will update my situation when I get more information. This could then reinforce your findings.

Here's the latest update in my saga of trying to get the Gnex from Best Buy for Sprint.

I called into check on the status, from the 888-Best-Buy number. Of course, they are still showing it back ordered. I then asked to talk to the mobile department since they were the ones who gave me the ship Thursday receive Friday timeframe. This time, however, I'm getting the potential for a 2 week delay. I was then transferred to their .com Research team who dug a little deeper. According to her, my order isn't scheduled to ship until sometime May 1-May 4, and even then, it could be a week, or multiple weeks longer. That being said, with the Buyback program I have with them, i'm pretty much stuck with Best Buy having my money while I'm yet to get the phone.

My advice, unless you have some compelling reason to get it from Best Buy (i.e. Buy Back, Gift Card, Fetish with Blue Polo Shirts, etc.) you might want to look for alternative sources. However, those alternative sources may end up having the same problem, but you won't know unless you try.

Sorry if I read as being mad but im not. Getting angry wont help me at all. I am speaking with someone from Minnesota Best Buy LP HQ. I live in So. Cal. O.C.He said that the phone will not be shipped MAYBE til after 8th this is my in store pre-order. But bb.com as it. Now they are backordered 1-2 weeks. We are going to speak again today. I will let you guys know what they say. But right now this has been a very bad buying experience and it looks like not the first goof in part of BB.
