Hmm interesting. A funny thing happened to me on Monday. I went to BBY to preorder the phone and see if they would match RS with the $20. I stood in the modile phone section for 25 minutes without any acknowledgment that I was there. One chick was talking to a customer (understandable) and the other was stocking something in a shelf. I would have taken a "Hey give me a few minutes" or "We'll be with you shortly." This pretty much just put it over the edge for me. It was store 1130 in TN.

As a representative for the company I apologize for that sub-par experience and I'll make a call to that store and talk to that manager tomorrow, thanks for the heads up.

Honestly, Were not on commission so we try not to push it too hard, we will offer the BTP every time because that is an expectation of all employees but one "no" is usually enough to make us back off.

as far as which is better...

It depends on you, If you're more prone to lose the phone then you should get the TEP. If you are more prone to break the phone then you should get the BTP.

BTP offers:
No Deductible
Unlimited Claims
Loaner Phone
No Refurbished Phones (Except the iphone)
Water Damage protection
Battery Replacement
Charges and cables are covered
Good Maintenance Reward (Money back for not using BTP)
does NOT cover lost or stolen

TEP:
No Water Damage, but accidental damage
Covers lost or stolen with $50-$125 deductable
No loaner phone
3 claims
No Batter/Charger Replacement

Really, you just have to look at the facts and decide for yourself.

No, the deposit is the same no matter where you go. The deposit amount is set by sprint. You may want to go to bby and re-run the credit and see what happens tough. It never hurts to try.

a lot of my customers purchase both. Yes we cover accidental damage from cracked screens (and this screen is HUGE, we already have them and the screen size shocked me) spillage, software glitches ect...

Wow I am really thinking about getting it but then I'd be stuck with a $50 radioshack GC. I'm going to try to get it refunded. If I can I'll gladly go with BBY for the no deductible cracked screen and water protection and TEP for lost/stolen protection.

This is a silly offer. People buying this phone likely have their own bluetooth already. 20$ to use as I like beats a free 40$ item I don't want and won't use. It is nice to see they are matching. After I cancelled my BB pre-order and goign to Radioshack. If they really wanna match they should open at 9am.. or even 8 to be earlier. Geeks want our phones as soon as possible. Hell, I'd pay 100$ more to have the phone tomorrow . I'd even sign an NDA and not tell a sould I have it.. WINK WINK SPRINT NUDGE NUDGE

That's a shame, that's a nice new BB store! I preordered mine at the Radio Shack in Cool Springs on the first day. The guy said I was the first one, really nice and friendly

Hmm, well I lost my bluetooth last July so this is not too bad of a deal. I certainly do not want to be holding this behemoth up to my head. Although the Plantronics 230 wouldn't have been my first choice as far as a bluetooth headset. Just as I was going to attempt to get the RS Price Match deal with Best Buy.
