Note 8 Ipulse
I really like the idea of consolidating items within my pocket to 1 package. I’m not a holster / belt clip kind of guy but I also don’t like having a lot of crap in my pockets. So I have always wanted a phone case and wallet in one. So iPulse to the rescue, kind of…
Pros:
1. The quality of the leather and stitching is pretty good. I did not see any of the stitching with nots or loose ends. The leather has a nice premium feel to the phone.
2. The magnetic side clip is snappy which makes it feel secure without the worry of it messing with the S-Pen functionality.
3. The power button is accessible and so is the finger print sensor on the back. The S-pen and other cut outs all fit perfect to the phone.
4. I like the kick stand feature except for the affects that it has on the back of the case which can’t really be avoided for this type of case (more in the next section).
Cons:
1. The phone cannot be used in the closed position. I have a wallet case for my work phone and there is a cut out over the ear speaker so that you can close the phone while talking on it rather than folding it back on itself.
2. Size- It’s not really the product that is a problem. The concept of adding ids and credit cards and cash stacked on top of your phone is ideal but it comes with the price of adding a crazy amount of thickness to a phone that is designed to be slim. iPulse is not to blame here. I added a picture of the imprint this phone leaves when it is my pocket. Note no credit cards or cash were in the slots for this picture.
This was not something that I considered when I dreamt of the wallet case. If I carried a murse (man purse) or purse everywhere I went this would not be an issue.
3. The kick stand crease. Notice in the picture I provided and which is also on the stock photos… there is a crease in the leather that is caused by using the case in the kickstand mode. It’s like the crease your boot makes where your toe bends. It is unavoidable with real leather but nonetheless it may be a bother to anyone that might be a bit OCD on that type of thing.
4. Slippy – While the leather is nice its really smooth so the grip feel is not really there.
5. The plastic tpu part of the case is a little warped and thin around the volume rocker. This was a bit disappointing for such a fine looking case. A picture of this is also included.
Conclusion
Overall it’s a well made case. I couldn’t complain except that I complain about everything. After using it for about a week I rarely use it. It's just too big. It's not comfortable. Using it while driving makes texting while driving twice as dangerous lol.
