Best glass screen protector for this phone

Bought my glass protector on eBay, 2 for like $5. Those name brands have a high price markup and quality is the same. If you want a perfect install, search the "hinge method". I've installed hundreds of glass protectors and it comes out perfect everytime.

I hear the incipio is not glass and has a drag to it, I bet it's plastic and plastic SP for 35$, no thanks.

What do you why it having a drag to it? It's one of those more flexible glass screen protectors though when looking at it on t-mobile website

I might get that one, but for $40! I'll have to wait till I get a bit more money first. I'm thinking of getting this one though https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5540661

It looks a bit sketchy since it says not full coverage when it looks like it is.

did it cover the 2nd screen and stick to all the edges? many of the ones I've seen on Amazon complain about it not sticking to the top completely.

Almost all cases, the phone landed on the ground (direct onto the face), once the screen protector cracked, and the whole screen including the actual display failed when the phone was dropped.
Why? Let us see, how the screen protector protect the phone.
A glass protector will spread the impact force onto a much larger area. This act can protect the top glass of the screen protect itself. And both the top glass on your screen and the screen protector have a thin layer of "glue", which acts like a shock absorber. So unless an impact goes deep enough so the pressure on the actual screen is too much only the protector should fail, once the protector failed, the screen would crack directly.

The other cases, the phone landed on the ground (direct onto the edge of screen protector). In these case, the glass protector failed easily under a little gentle shock.
So when we saw a glass protector cracked under a gentle drop without screen shattering, which did not mean glass protector protected our phone well. It mean the truth that glass protector is fragile, it is too easy to crack.
Why is it so easy to crack when shocked on the edge of a glass protector?
For it can’t spread the impact force onto a much larger area. So it just crack on the edge. Then the whole protector will crack after the edge cracking.
That’s the reason for glass screen protectors need to be replaced every time you drop the phone.crack.jpg

.

Not always the same. The $24.99 one I originally got from Verizon was just crap. It was all bendy like plastic not glass and didn't fit well at all. If u find a cheap one that fits well that's awesome! Just wasn't my experience

Members at xda say it sucks, it's not tempered glass, more like the original zagg material that is not tempered glass, so ya, finger drag.

And why is it such a mission to find a TGSP these days (regardless of the curve), I just want a decent one to fit on flat portion of screen?

It was easy in the HTC 7 days when we had mime, ghost glass and a few other I cant remeber. Sure they cost more but we knew they worked well. I don't mind paying a premium price for a reputable brand. I would guess most of these cheap ebay/amazon specials are the same TGSP with different packaging/branding.

The drag on the Incipio goes away after some use. However it scratches very easily. It claims to be glass, but I doubt it's 9h. Kind of disappointed in my $35 purchase after a few days use. I'll stick with it until I learn more about the Spigen and Rinke ones.

This is definitely true. At first I had drag, now I don't and they look perfect.

My only complaint is the hardness I work on cars for a living in an area with a lot of dirt roads and mine is already scratched pretty bad. It's not unusable, but a little upsetting for the price.

I got crazy and tried four or five of these and still have a couple more. People do not install them properly. I have only had an issue with one. It was my fault. Every other one was fine. No issues. It is real easy to get one too high or low on this phone. The trick is to install with the screen on so you get exact alignment. I never use tabs/stickers for install.

I installed the Spigen yesterday. It is perfect. My fingers glide across the screen, no drag whatsoever.
