Best Kernel for JB roms? (Vicious JB v3)

I switched to trinity after reading this thread and gotta say the battery life has been improved a lot over the stock kernel.

How long have you been on trinity? I'm glad to hear its better then stock because I've been running the stock kernel for 2 days now and it seems to go quick. Its an improvement over Franco's, in my opnion, but not like it was on stock ICS for me.

So, since I messed up my phone last time I flashed this could anyone tell me what to do? I flashed the trinity kernel after flashed the vicious Jelly Bean v3 and my phone got stuck in a boot loop, was that a fluke or should I try again?

Thanks in advance!

I was on JB14 with the 15xx max, but I don't do much that justifies that clock... so I flashed back to JB13 with the 13xx max.

I didn't have much luck with Franco's JB kernels either. They seemed to extract my butter. Stock was better, and Trinity is even better.

And yes, more than one way to skin a cat. You can change boot ani's just swapping files in root explorer. It's faster than unpacking zips... but dm's a nerd, and he enjoys doing things differently... IE, bricking his phone a couple times a week so he can make updated guides on how to unbrick, LOL ;) :D

Dear karma, please ignore my previous statement. Thanks homie.

Unless you didn't do all of your wipes, it sounds like a fluke.

I installed yesterday around 1PM and just battery just had more juice than normal by the time I got home with the same use. Also just notice things like while I'm checking RSS feeds, facebook and twitter the battery isn't like a "countdown" as it was on stock. Of course I'll get a much better idea over the next couple days but I have notice some things being a little better.

Yes. On your computer, unpack the rom's zip; find bootanimation.zip. Put that on your phone (like downloads or something). Move that to data/local. That'll override the trinity boot ani.

I cant seem to find data/local on phone. im using astro. Any help?

Countdown is such a great way of putting that little phenomenon...lol

I'm currently on 1344 JB14 (trinity), flashing 1344 JB17 as we speak though.

You were right there was an update coming. I just flashed jb14, yesterday now I have to flash jb17 lol. Do you know what it improves on?

No idea. So far so good though?

YAY! finally got the trinity kernel working, thanks for all the help everyone!

I endorse this message.

Smooth is great but what kind of battery life are you getting? Thats my biggest concern at this point. I've been using the JB stock kernel on Vicious V3 and getting roughly 8hrs of use before dying on moderate usage. I really need 12 hours as I am not near a charger for the majority of my day.

Since the Trinity kernels are all over clocked, are you guys limited your CPU via setCPU or anything like that? Or just keeping it OC'd?

Thanks for your input.

I agree with u. I'm getting the same battery life as u, and want it to last at least 12-14 hours

And you're still using the Trinity kernel? I am using the stock kernel, so I guess they're about the same. I find it odd that not many people are concerned with battery life, seems everyone wants to OC and tweak the ROMs to give performance over battery.
