For $13, I got the Spigen Rugged Armor case. It fits perfectly, feels great, and is still keeps my phone slim and pocket-friendly.

Do you have a glass screen protector? I tried this case and it was interfering screen protector. For me this case also didn't provide as much protection as I wanted, but I could see how it might be a favorite for many people.

Was going to try a Lifeproof case, but read that it blocks the speaker sound a lot. (plus, I like a screen protector directly on the phone, not from the case)

Tried the Otterbox Defender. It was pretty nice (bulky of course), but the problem was that the plastic near the bottom of the screen made it hard to get to the home button (unless you have skinny fingers). That black plastic could probably be shaved down. Won't work well with a glass screen protector on phone (since it has its own protector).

Now I have the Otterbox Commuter (pricey, but not as bad as Defender). The plastic part of the case makes it slippery, I might try to do something about it. But overall I like it. It doesn't interfere with my screen protector and it seems like it will protect well.

Got the Spigen Neo Hybrid case, I think it's the Gunmetal one. Really happy with it. Had the same case for the G4 but I think this version is nicer.

Love this from Tech 21. Easy enough to remove when you need to. Had one previously on my M9.image.jpeg

Currently rocking the Spigen Neo-Hybrid case.

I came from having an OtterBox Commuter on my old S4, and decided I wanted to find something a little slimmer.

Pros:
  • Slim
  • Conservative Styling
  • Both rubberized backing and hard edge protection

Cons
  • Edges lack any rubberized or textured surface reducing grip
  • I don't feel like the phone has nearly as much buffer as with an Otterbox Commuter. Its very "Hybrid", I would not recommend it if you drop the phone often.
  • Quality is only o.k. The rubberized section is a little cheap feeling meaning its very plasticky, and the platic seems fragile and cheap. That being said, it is lightweight and slim.
  • Really hard to remove, which may be an issue for those using the module nature of the G5

Having gone through a nightmare experience with the Samsung Galaxy S6, I've switched to an LG G5. Not sure how well I'll like it, but we'll see.

Really appreciate all the tips on cases. Very frustrated that Otterbox is offering very few designs for this model, so I'll be going with a different brand this time around.

Has anyone heard of dbrand? They do a G5 "skin", but I dont quite get how it works. Is it basically a vinyl convering that you stick to the back of your phone? What stops it peeling ??

I put a dbrand skin on mine. I really like it. It's a 3M product. So it's just a great adhesive.

And adds virtually nothing to the thickness of the device.

It also covers the front of the chin as well. You can mix and match the different pieces, three in all, to really customize the look you want.

The skin fits so exact it looks like it's actually the phone... Blends right in. I covered my white Nexus 9 with it as well.

An exceptional product. (too bad dBrand doesn't pay me for the promotion of their product)

I want the UAG.. I used it for several different devices I had and I probably will get it as well for the G5

I got the ash color for my G5 titan.. its transparent which is different from the ones i had on my Galaxy S3 and S5. Those Cases have protected those phones very well so the decision was easy. Not that i drop phones alot but accidents happen and I have never broken a phone yet since i have always chose a nice case. There was the one time a former significant other didn't check pockets and my pants were collected whilst i was in the shower..... my poor poor HTC evo met a horrible death at sea that day.

Do any of the skins or cases help with the plastic feel of the primer? Looking at replacing my m8 with a g5 but coming from a brushed metal back to a plastic feel is a bit off putting.

I, personally, don't find that the G5 feels like plastic. But that's just me. I installed a dBrand skin and now it really looks cool. And... The skin really helped with the amount of grip.

Here's a picture with it outside the case I'm using.

I've been using an Incipio black case and its amazing, I picked it up at a Verizon store ... It's low profile, the buttons work great, the openings are very well contoured and it feels great and enhances the look of the phone.

Just wanted to add to a running thread by giving another nod to the Spigen Thin Fit case.

I went through 2 other "no name" cases for my G5 where both of them broke in very short time. Disappointed with the poor quality, I went ahead and opted for a Spigen. I immediately noticed how truly thin the Thin Fit case was and the fit & finish was excellent too. It has a nice grippy "soft touch" feel on the case but it also didn't leave a lot of fingerprints on the back either. Overall, it's the best phone case (for any phone) that I've had so far.

Just received mine yesterday, purchased it on Amazon.com and it's exactly as you described it. Thanks for the heads up.

hi everyone :)

I have G5 for 3 days now and just ordered my spigen tough armor (the one with stand) but it looks like i would like to have lg cam plus module attached all time - anyone have case that fits (or can be modified to fit) lg cam plus module?

I've had a G5 for a couple of months now and I wanted to get a casing that's both durable and stylish. This is what I am planning to get:

It has diamond studs too. HAHA..you think I should go for it?

I've never seen anything in these forums. Given the lack of success surrounding the G5's attempt to modularity, I doubt very much that such a case exists. Although, never say never right.

Tech21 has a NICE case for the G5 and it's not terribly expensive. (Get it from Amazon like I did and pay only $16 bucks!)

I always go for phone cases that are more functional. The FRE phone case from Lifeproof is a bit expensive but it's really worth it. Just like what the ad says, it's highly durable (waterproof, dirt proof, snow proof, and drop proof). I got mine for $80 a month back but the cost may have gone down.

Completely agree, seen one of their cases for the S8 at an AT&T store. Real slick, unfortunately they didn't offer it for the G6 when I asked.
