THEY STILL WORK ON SATURDAY!!! Fedex monkies dont. Overnight on a weekend still means 3 days at the least before your "overnight" package from vm arrives. fedex is a ripoff when it comes to weekend shipments. ill take govt sector weekend mail on the weekends vs these private sector clowns any day. thumbs down for fedex :thumbdown:

Sorry, but you are wrong on all accounts here.

Fed Ex home delivery works on Saturday, my moms Optimus Elite came on Saturday via Fed Ex.
USPS on the other hand is dropping Saturday delivery.

Don't get me started on their combined shipping or delivery times. I hate them both (along with DHL). Despite no Saturday, I'll take UPS, because even without Saturdays, I still tend to get the package sooner and on time or early.

my order was shipped friday overnight,and fedex estimated delivery time is tuesday??? thats not over night. and last i checked the post office delivered my mail yeaterday. and if they are ending saturday delviery then i blame that on a crooked congress who put the post office in the red by raiding postal funding for other projects. blah. ill take u.s. mail over fedex any day.

They're stopping Saturday delivery because there's not much mail and its not worth it. Look at your mail... it mostly consists of spam, spam, a few bills that should be electronically sent instead, and that birthday card from your great grandmother. Besides the birthday card, the postal service understands that physical mail is on the way out (besides packages).

call me crazy or old fashioned but i value having a regular mail carrier i know and trust versus some brown shorts wearing,over paid jackass who wont even knock on my door to leave the package,but instead leaves a note asking me to come pickup a package i paid their asses to actually deliver....overnight. hmmm...:what:

The postal service runs independent of the US government and subsists on what it earns on stamps and shipping, just like a normal company. Business has been so bad that they too needed a bailout.

congress exerts control over their budget and pension plans. they also spend that money. and no they aren't independent of the federal government. their budget,pensions,everything is still accounted for by congress,gao and omb. these three entities are why an otherwise profitable post office is in the red and needs money. bogus accounting schemes,pension raids,etc hurt the post office. not lack of business. get your facts right. sure congress gave them some market freedom and in return asked them ti become self supporting,but even then the congress allocated approximately 100 million a year for the post office. their semi-independent...if you wanna call it that. http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/05/26-1

as for what this has to do with optimus v,i ordered the elite to upgrade from my v from vm. they shipped it "overnight" via fedex friday...its monday and no phone. tracking shows its still in a truck in Indianapolis. not in my hand. when an overnight via post office might very well have this phone on my hand today. might still not be. could still be waiting even with postal service. atleast an option to pick my delivery carrier would have been nice. well off to work. have a good day everyone :thumbup:

Depends on the area you live in if your packages can get left on your doorstep or not. I shop online a lot so I get frequent deliveries from UPS and occasionally FedEx, they leave boxes on my porch all the time. Even left a crib on the porch one time and it sat there for a day while I was in the hospital having the baby. Fedex and UPS deliver on Saturday, if that option is selected by the sender. The brown shorts wearing aholes are far from overpaid, you want to fuss about compensation, complain about the top brass not the rank and file.

if they deliver on saturday,they sure missed me. or virgin mobiles army of indian/mexican support staff didnt place my order correctly. all i can do is place the order,i cant see that its actually placed correctly or delivered correctly. thats up to the foreign monkies and the monkies dropping off packages. either way,i intend on not buying online from vm again. hell it wouldve been easier to walk in radioshack and walked out the door with it in my hand right away. and yes i consider them overpaid. you may not but i do. to me its simple. i paid someone to much if they didnt deliver all the goods promised in the transaction. that includes the whole damn company..including the brown shorts assholes.

Are you sure the package was actually shipped on Friday. Just because you got an confirmation email from VM doesn't necessarily mean it was shipped out. It could just mean that you phone was packed and entered into the Fedex system. Could be this was done after Fedex picked up and therefore your package won't be able to be shipped out until monday.
OH and yes FEDEX and UPS Do deliver on Saturdays but in order for it to be cost efficient and profitable they have to charge an extra fee. See that's kind of how it works when you have shareholders to answer to unlike the USPS.
