Best remote desktop app for Xoom?

That's the thing, pocketcloud IMO is too slow and the screen size isn't optimized for the xoom. I am also anxiously waiting for Citrix to fix their receiver software.....

So far PocketCloud is the only one that works and looks good on my Xoom. Debating if I want to purchase the full version.

Now if Citrix would hurry up and fix there app for Xoom I'd be set.

I agree Citrix stop dragging your feet!!! I need to log into work through RDP!

Right now phonemypc is the best. Takes real good advantage of the increased resolution.

I use Remote Desktop Client from Xtralogic and it seems to work great on the xoom. I'm just wondering. What makes PocketCloud so much better?

What exactly can you do in the remote desktop environment? Manage downloads and watch video files? Does iPad have anything like this?

Teamviewer is free and easy to set up even through a router or firewall. No need to designate port forwarding. In that sense its a lot like "Go To My PC" which they say is coming for Android. Go To My PC is the best remote viewer I've used, but it sure ain't free.

If you are only using the software from home over your own network, I highly recommend Desktop Remote by David Straw. The free version esentially turns your phone/tablet into a touchscreen for your PC, great for using a phone/tablet as a control device when streaming to your TV. The $1.49 version streams your desktop to your android phone/tablet. This allows you to completely control your PC from your phone/tablet, and even view media files with the PC's native players. You can zoom (no pinch though), and there are three onscreen buttons for the mouse buttons, as well as tapping actions.

For those adventurous enough, you can even use this over 3g by forwarding ports 4484 and 4485 on your router to the PC you want to control (you may also have to add exceptions for those ports on your PC's firewall).
----WARNING----
This software doesn't use encryption or any form of security, so only use it over 3g at your own risk!!!! (basically, you probably shouldn't do it)

A very nice app, and I would be willing to pay more for a 3g secure version!

I've been using PocketCloud and been satisfied, but was intrigued by this thread. I just bought and installed Remote Desktop Client, but don't see much a difference in speeds.

Unless I'm missing some setup parameters somewhere that will make the response faster, I'm assuming the speed is probably a function of how much data needs to get sent.

Now.. do I stay with PocketCloud, which I spend $15 for... or stay with Xtralogic, which I paid $25 for. ;-)

Anyone have any info on the relative security between the two?

I am using PocketCloud (paid version) as well. On my old Windows 7 Home Premium laptop I have to use VNC, since it does not have RDP, and it is significantly slower than my Windows 7 Professional desktop using RDP. That is the case both over wifi (50Mbps) and 3G.

Log Me In has been updated for the XOOM, and in my opinion is the hands down winner. I have it installed on all my PC's, my parents and Grand Parents PC's, I can do "tech support" from wherever I am at with ease now.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? I'm still not sure which to buy, pocketcloud or log me in. Pocketcloud has a more attractive price. Other than that I'm really not sure.
