Best Sense-based ROMs?

Hey guys,

What do you think are the best Sense-based ROMs for EVO? I'm using Rebirth-ACrom right now and it works well, but the big problem I've had since installing it (build was from Dec 2010 after the release of HTC 3.71) was that it ate up more space (20-30 MB more) than the previous stock ROM without adding much of anything (with the exception of Blockbuster, which was minimal, and that stupid game I removed, which was also minimal). What Sense-based ROMs are better on space issues and battery usage? Or, alternatively, how can I adjust the free space on my EVO so that less free space is reserved (yes, I have already done App2SD on what I could and Titanium to SD for the things I could move without taking a performance hit)?

i would try myn warm z rls1 i think its a little smoother than rls5 IMHO

i think ill have to give that one a try soon.. does it have htc hub?

Thx, trying MikFroyo 4.5 now. Flashing without wiping (guess I didn't wipe correctly) bumped my free space from 92 MB to 215 MB (HUGE difference. I KNEW the ROM must have been defective in some way), but WiFi wasn't working. Now I'm doing the full data wipe to get a clean system and see if that helps.

theres so many variables involved in ROM choosing. all depends on what you look for and for battery life theres different kernels to try. if you like speed and lots of customizations IMHO Mikfroyo 4.5 can do that. if you like something with a high amount of storage space and some customz azrael x 4.0 has 400+ megs after initial boot. if you are not one for all the theming ricsim has stock turbo its stock looking with a lot of customz.

dt a2sd guide use facebook for install instructions. with a proper install of a2sd your internall memory should barely move. this is an example of how to use it with MIK 4.5. i use it and only lost like 10 megs after loading about 30 apps. (you need a good SD card)

battery life nets kernels are a popular choice. i use 4.3.2 cfs no sbc havs less. heres some info on the terminology. keep in mind whenever flashing new roms or kernels its always good to let the phone go thru a couple of full charge cycles in order to see a difference in batt .

...freedom of choice, those are just some of my suggestions on ROMS and kernels. if you or anyone else wants to try a bunch of roms or kernels, this is the most comprehensive ROM database out and regularly updated. some are older most are up to date. check first. use at your own discretion!

OK, there has to be a better way of getting some of the apps from the "Removed Apps" folder back onto my phone. I tried to do it with Root Explorer, copying and pasting into /system/app, but they didn't appear. Then, when I rebooted the phone, everything crashed. At least I can get back to the old ROM with my Nandroid backup, but if I'm going to try that again, I need a better way of pushing it.

sorry i may have misunderstood i thought you wanted to remove bloated apps...no?

just hit the app you want then reinstall..

I recomend Kings Unleashed Ultra R2. The theming is off the charts and they add in some very helpful extras (app-wise).

I've been running Myn's Z for the past week now and it's rock solid. I'm now experimenting with different Kernels so I can rock the OC and get some extra juice from my battery. This ROM is clean and fast and you get all the improvements that Sense 2.0 brings to the table. I recommend it. I've also been eyeballing that Kings Utral R2 ROM. Might grab that one soon and give it a whirl as well.

OK, so here are a few of my reviews:
MikFroyo: throughput issues on WiFi and 4G.
Kings Ultra Unleashed: HUGE footprint
Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo: fine, until I started restoring from Titanium Backup. Then WiFi would refuse to connect to my network, and 4G wouldn't connect at all. Also, the widgets are all messed up.

So, now I'm trying Calkulin's EViO 2 v. 1.8. Hopefully, this doesn't give me any problems.

EDIT: And it's Calkulin by a landslide! Thanks for all your help.

which ones are using sense 2.0? i've tried mikfroyo for almost 2 weeks, but turned out i need landscape home screen (avail on sense 2.0), so i moved on to warm z (just today).

If i am correct Warm Z is Myns Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5 if i am wrong please let me know cause i am a little confused.

I was using AzrealX roms for a while and loved them. Moved to Mikfroyo 4.5 few weeks ago and its a great rom. Fast, no qwarks and pretty visually appealing
