Android Central Question

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tablet A 10.1 (2016) Model SM-T580. It only comes with 16 Gb of storage - but my tablet also came with a 32 Gb sd card. After working with the Tablet, I am finding that most apps don't move to external storage. So, I used APK editor from Google Play store to move some apps. But the actual data files don't move. I tried manually moving some of them but then the app wouldn't work properly. Also, I am reading that after an update the apps move back to internal storage. I DO NOT want to Root my tablet. With all of this in mind, what is my best option for extending the storage on my tablet? Or, are sd cards only really useful for transferring data from an external device (laptop).
Thanks for your responses.

I don't know what the best use is of an SD card: it depends on how you interpret 'best'. I use the Link2SD app for moving apps to SD storage, and find that it works well. It's certainly invaluable if you have a lower-storage device.

There may be other apps like it: I don't know.
