Oh I see. We get tethering included here in Canada at no extra charge (but our data plans suck)

I'd say foxfi too but I haven't been able to get it to work on my wife's maxx since the ics upgrade. Works great on my other phone.

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling. I had the same issue, and this worked for me

I'm not understanding this thread (I'm a noob). Isn't tethering as a hotspot built into android by default? I have an option to turn my gs3 into a hotspot, why do people install a separate app to do this?

Because you have to pay for that hot spot. Vs Foxfi just uses your data and makes it a free wifi hotspot.

Fox Fi doesn't work with the upgrade to Jelly Bean, so if you want to use it don't upgrade your phone sofware.

i just rooted mine, which is easy to do, then installed google tether app

doesnt foxfi now limit the time you can tether unless you pay for the app?

i believe so. some custom roms have built in wifi tethering, by using the built in tethering your phone comes with, but bypassing Verizon's term of service that you would normally have to pay for.
